The hotel is indeed aging but remains charming! It offers typical Japanese rooms and rooms with beds and all of them are tidy and well maintained!
The manager of the establishment is adorable and very accommodating.
Breakfast is ok! The soup is a treat! Be careful because the restaurant does not offer dinner (at least during our stay).
The only negative point is the distance from the “center” but buses pass regularly (except in the evening!).

The hotel is some distance from the station, but the surrounding environment is very good and quiet. There is no barrier to communication in English. The hotel manager is also very nice.

The facilities were pre-modern and gave up, but the whole hotel smelled musty and I couldn't stand it. Even though I breathed in the delicious air of nature, the smell of mold in the hotel made it a disappointing trip. One of the family members could not stand the musty smell, so they left the trip and returned home without staying at the hotel.
I wish the site had more information about the musty smell in the reviews.
