作為去卡拉克穆爾中間停留虛普爾小鎮停留的經濟型酒店總體上還是不錯的，設施簡單但還算齊全前台雖然英語不太流利但真誠的笑容與專業能力還是幫旅途中的我們解決了一些問題。值得一住。

Xpujil is a small Mayan town in the most southern part of the Yucatan peninsula. It is a friendly and safe location, convenient to Calakmul and to several smaller Mayan city ruins which are well worth seeing. The town has a number of places to eat and some small hotels, a bank, and a number of stores and stalls selling vegetables, crafts, and street side meals. Near the bottom of the main street there is an entertaining and capable shoe repair man and there is a place to have laundry done. There is a gas station and a busy bus station on the main street. We stayed in the Hotel Maya Balam, a clean and well run small hotel with off street parking, good air conditioning, comfortable beds, private bathrooms with showers, friendly staff, and a small onsite restaurant. It is far enough up the hill from the main highway to leave the traffic noise behind.

Chambre spacieuse avec une décoration un peu « kitch », mais avec un bon rapport qualité/prix payable en cash. Le soir, nous avons apprécié le restaurant. Côté pratique: absence de frigo, d'équipements pour se faire une boisson chaude, de verre à dent, de coffre-fort, de sèche-cheveux, de fer et de planche à repasser. WiFi récalcitrant et serviettes un peu élimées.

After a horrible stay at Hotel & Restaurant Calakmul in Xpujil, I tried Hotel Maya Balam. What a difference! Clean, quiet, and fast wi-fi. Small free parking lot - probably can handle about 3-4 cars. Room was clean, good beds, clean sheets, and nice bathroom. Low water pressure in the sink was a bit annoying. Shower worked well.

When we booked the room, I already had in mind that this was just a one-night stopover. So I didn't have high expectations (rather extremely low) - in a way, the room was a pleasant surprise. It was very big, the furnishings were ok. The staff were friendly. The bathroom has a terrible musty (?) smell. The wi-fi in the room didn't work.

L'hotel est parfaitement situé pour la visite de Calakmul. Le personnel est agréable et souriant, je vous recommande leur panier repas du midi pour emmener en visite de la cité, tout aussi imbattable en termes de qualité / prix ! Effectivement, dommage pour les bruits de poules / chiens mais reste supportable avec des boules quies !

Pretty poor overall. No hot water at all at any time, so no shower. Room was cleanish, shower was dirty. But no side light, no side table, only just about warm enough with a thin fleece blanket. They didn't care there was no hot water. Dogs barking all night, cockrels in the morning. Very average food in the restaurant, they got my order completely wrong, then brought up chicken so overcooked I could barely cut it. Fresh juices were nice. Worse place I've stayed in Mexico so far.

Cet hôtel est bien situé. Les chambres mériteraient un rafraîchissement et le prix pourrait aussi inclure le petit déjeuner (en comparant avec d'autres hébergements au même prix au Yucatan). Les chambres sont propres mais très mal insonorisées et pas assez d'eau chaude.
