Hotels Near Zhaojun Plaza in Wuhan

Donghu Hotel, also known as ”Hubei Zhongnanhai”, is a hotel where Chairman Mao stayed 48 times. I came to Wuhan during the National Day holiday and specially chose to experience this state guesthouse. The scenery of the hotel is picturesque. Walking along the greenway along the lake in the hotel, I feel full of happiness. Tingtao Building has new facilities, close to the East Gate, and very close to the Provincial Museum and Art Museum. Nanshan Yisuo has more heritage, but the facilities are older. Staying in a hotel always has new facilities and a better experience. Although the hotel is large, it is very convenient to travel. You can ask the staff to call an electric car and come and go freely. When checking in, I made an appointment for the explanation of Chairman Mao’s former residence. Before the visit, I had to deposit my mobile phone. At the entrance, there was a white marble statue of Chairman Mao, which was very charming. Everyone had to bow three times first. The tour guide Zhou Baixue took everyone to visit the exhibition and saw the room where Chairman Mao had lived before. The explanation was very detailed. At the end, he also organized everyone to read ”Shui Tiao Ge Tou Swimming” collectively, which was a very meaningful experience. The biggest shortcoming of the hotel is the indifference of the staff and the average quality of the hotel breakfast, which needs to be improved.

We stayed in Kailaixi Hotel in a family room with 3 beds. The room was cleaned every day, has a huge window and good sound-proof. The location is great - we could enjoy the Yellow Crane Tower and the Yangtze river bridge from our room window, it takes 5 mins to get to the subway station. Everything is great about the hotel, just a little drawback — poor WiFi, especially in the evening. The variety of food for breakfast is impressive, although there is not much Western food, mainly Chinese. Restaurant staff, namely the lady ”007”, is very friendly and she treated us kindly and taught us to use chopsticks! Thank you, ”007”! There is a lot of free stuff in the hotel — water, snacks and good coffee in the lobby. All in all, the Kailaixi Hotel impressed us a lot! I can't see any rude disadvantages, and I personally can't see much difference between Kailaixi, which is 3-star hotel, and any other 4-star hotel. I think Kailaixi hotel deserves 4 stars!

The hotel room boasts fabulous views that can captivate any guest. However, the charm is dampened by dated furniture and decor. While the scenic backdrop provides solace, modernizing the interior would enhance the overall experience and make it truly unforgettable.

BEWARE IF YOU PAY AT THE FRONT DESK AT THE HOTEL. THEY DOUBLE-CHARGED US AND DID NOT REFUND THE OVERCHARGE. We booked through Trip.com and selected to pay at the hotel (our mistake). We used our Alipay QR code to pay at the front desk, but the transaction took a while and seemed to have failed (slow internet connection). We tried again and the second time it was successful. It wasn't until we left Wuhan and checked our credit card statements that we noticed two of the same charges from the Ethos Hotel. Contacting the hotel, the staff was pleasant and helpful but never admitted to seeing a double-charge in their system. The person on the phone said they would investigate and asked us to call back later. After a day, we called back; they said they contacted Trip.com and that a refund was given to us. This refund they were referring to was the Trip.com deposit to hold our rooms. We explained the situation again, but the person helping us kept saying we should contact Trip.com even though we paid the hotel directly. Now back at home, we contacted Trip.com. After chatting with one of their reps, and providing our credit card and Alipay statements as proof of the double charge, they said they would get back to us. The result was an email with the message, ”Duplicate deduction/overcharge-Duplicate deduction/overcharge: Not duplicate deduction/overcharge.” We are not surprised by this result, as Trip.com cannot verify any payments that took place because the actual payment happened at the HOTEL FRONT DESK. So here we are trying to go through our bank to see if they can do something because they CAN see the 2 charges that were 3 minutes apart from the same hotel. We hope this will be resolved and all this was a misunderstanding... time will tell.

During the National Day holiday, I took my parents and children on a cruise to visit the Three Gorges. The first stop was Wuhan, and then I took the boat from Wuhan to Yichang. Before leaving, I compared many hotels in terms of location, hotel scenery, service and other aspects. I thought that most of the branded five-star hotels are similar but less interesting, so this time I finally chose the Howard Johnson Pearl Hotel, which has Wuhan's local characteristics. Checking in late is indeed a very wise choice. The hotel's location is very advantageous. From the room, you can see the Dujiang Tower and the Flood Monument with Chairman Mao's inscription in front of you. The lights on the Wuhan River are beautiful. The hotel is very convenient to everywhere. My son and I were tired of walking around Jianghanguan and had to wait in line for a taxi during peak hours. We took the bus directly to the hotel downstairs for only 1 yuan and only took a few minutes. After dinner, it only takes a few minutes to walk from the hotel to the river bank opposite. It is so pleasant to be surrounded by the river and the wind. The breakfast at the hotel was quite satisfactory. The hot dry noodles tasted good, but the lady who made the hot dry noodles was a bit stiff. The layout of the room is spacious, reasonable and comfortable, and the view is excellent. Sitting by the window and looking far into the distance is what you want. The front desk service is warm and meticulous, which doubles your favorability. I really like the unique architectural appearance of the hotel. A pearl is particularly dazzling at night. You can also take the hotel sightseeing elevator from the 1st floor to the 40th floor, where you can gradually see the entire city, which is very interesting. If you come to Wuhan for the first time, you will definitely not be disappointed if you can stay at Howard Johnson Pearl Hotel.

Advantages: service, environment, location, breakfast. The hotel has 56 floors, perfect, with a great view from above, and a beautiful light show at night. The room we were given was a bit small. When I booked it, I saw a sofa and a small table. I wanted to eat while enjoying the view, but the room we were given only had a recliner, so we took the takeaway to the restaurant. The view in the restaurant is unbeatable, better than the room, and the restaurant only provides breakfast, so you can come down and use it at other times. This is very user-friendly. There is also a reading place where we took the children to do homework. There were few people and it was very quiet. I would recommend it to my family and friends. There is a subway station right outside the hotel, and Hanjiang Road is right at the door of the hotel. This location and such hardware facilities are really perfect!

The hotel room is very large, clean and sanitary, the service is thoughtful and full of details. My husband and I did not have breakfast in the morning, and the housekeeper Xiaohui put 2 bottles of milk at the door, which is very good. I recommend staying here. Wuhan is delicious! !

Close to the Metro with connecting lines(100m) and walkingstreet with shopping malls and street food and flee market. A little noisy from traffic and people because of central location but quiet before midnight. Staff was friendly but poor English as usual in China. Breakfast is worth the price, recommend.

Very convenient location for travelling. Staff is kind and helpful. Room are sufficiently clean. I often come to this hotel and I have never bean disappointed. Breakfast can be improved but is still sufficient. I recommend it.

I came to Wuhan for a trip during the National Day holiday, and I found this treasure hotel. I have to write a review: 1. Because we drove 4 hours to Wuhan with the elderly and children, it was hard on the road, so we called the front desk in advance to inquire whether we could check in early. The front desk patiently helped me find out that 5 rooms had been checked out, and told us that we could check in early around 12 o'clock. Compared with those cold and regular hotels that told us to check in after 2 o'clock, the reply of this hotel made people feel more humane. 2. The guy who checked in at the front desk was handsome and gentle. He helped us upgrade the room considerately, and specially arranged the room for the elderly on the quiet side away from the road. 3. The room is clean, sanitary, and quiet. It is very comfortable to live in. After a day of shopping, you can have a good sleep when you return to the hotel. 4. There are free drinks in the room, which the children like very much. 5. The butler WeChat communication is convenient, and problems can be solved in time. The children like the robot service very much. 6. The breakfast is rich and varied. The children especially like beef noodles. The beef is very big and they are very satisfied with it. 7. Because it is a self-driving tour, it is very convenient to drive to the surrounding scenic spots, especially during the National Day, there was no long traffic jam, which made this trip very pleasant. 8. Compared with the hotels that cost thousands of yuan during the National Day, I was surprised to be able to stay in such a high-quality hotel for more than 400 yuan! It is simply cheap and good value for money! Choosing a satisfactory hotel for travel will make the whole trip more perfect, so I strongly recommend this hotel, which is very cost-effective!
