Went to eat last Sunday. Both had a roast. I had half a chicken which was the size of a quarter of a chicken. It was overcooked and the meat stuck to the bone it was so hard. 4 measly small potatoes and a cabbage stalk with no Babbage on it. Daughter had beef. She couldn’t even cut it. It was tough. Would have helped slightly if she had been given a steak knife. Both were very disappointed. None of the other tables were cleared just felt dirty. Never will go back never will recommend. Waiters were good.

Very handily located just off the North Downs Way national trail, The Bull is a very characterful hotel and restaurant, which also has modern event facilities. We stayed on a quiet Monday and were wonderfully well looked after, both in the evening and at breakfast. Our room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. We also had dinner at the Bull and, yes, the smoked chicken really does melt in the mouth. The perfect antidote to a hard day on the trail.

Excellent all round experience for Sat evening drinks and dinner. We had drinks in the bar area. They have local beers and a local gin. Had a fine IPA, perfectly served. Dinner was very good. Nice to see the emphasis on local, ethically sourced produce.

We've stayed and eaten here on 4 or 5 occasions over the last 10 or so years Unfortunately our last visit after a couple of years , the place didn't meet expectations! The entrance area is still dated (previous impressions ) the hallway carpet has needed replaced for years and the bathrooms are looking tired !! All of the above make the food prices seem a little expensive ! Not a review I'm enjoying writing as I've recommended this place to many friends in the past .

We were booked into the Bull as part of a gift by our sons, presumably due to the strength of it’s online reviews. Our room was clean but basically furnished. Not a picture on the walls or any welcoming touches. Absolutely no atmosphere. The bathroom was similarly spartan, with one tiny body wash and one tiny shampoo. Due to low water pressure the bath would have taken an hour to fill. The corridors and stairs were shabbily carpeted and gave a down at heel impression. Our main courses at dinner were of of an extremely poor standard. Not at all in keeping with the nice atmosphere in the restaurant. On a positive note, the staff were extremely friendly and attentive. The playing of the guitarist, Paul, who entertained us during dinner was exceptional . I’m afraid that I cannot understand how others have given this establishment such glowing reviews.
