The Lemon Tree ★★★
"Had a wonderful time, could not fault the service, food was great, room was clean and tidy + car parking"
Wrexham Llyndir Hotel by Belvilla ★★★★
"We didn't stay here in the end, despite booking it, and feel very unhappy about the process (review ratings above put in so I could submit the commentary below). I was in a rush, my first time using the Trip App, and there was a very cheap room only deal for this Hotel, which showed 4 stars on the Trip site. We really only needed a room for the night whilst collecting a car so I wasn't as diligent as I would normally be. We expected to arrive late, so I tried to call to notify staff and ensure we could still check in. I called the number shown but it was clearly a multi-chain customer service site and they didn't recognise either the hotel or my booking reference. I googled to find a direct number, to no avail. I then checked Tripadvisor and noticed the recent reviews were terrible. In short, this is a run-down former hotel (that had good reviews pre-covid) that was closed for some time, and has been re-opened on a "remote-managed basis" - lots of very unhappy customers, but even the Tripadvisor review hasn't yet been dragged down by the current performance. Unfortunately the "cheap" price was attached to a no-cancel policy so I was unable to cancel the booking even a few minutes after making it. We chose to stay somewhere else, and they very kindly sorted us out at a good price. I understand I am partly culpable because of a lack of due diligence, however the manner of scalping a quick booking through a cheap price and then refusing any cancellation leaves a very bitter feeling from a customer service point of view. I would hope Trip would be better than this."
Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Wrexham ★★★★
"Fantastic stay. The hotel was great. Spacious rooms. Very clean. Staff welcoming. Food was excellent. Great location."
Grosvenor Pulford Hotel & Spa ★★★★
"Great hotel, stayed in a spiral room which was very comfortable. Some nice touches in room including great choice of tea/ coffee and some sweets to munch on. Spa really good and not so busy. We ate in the palm restaurant and had carvery which was amazing and reasonably priced. Free car parking although very busy on the Sunday due to wedding and Sunday roast guests. We will be back as staff were amazing and overall experience was superb."
Moreton Park Hotel ★★★
"No happening at night... Simple breakfast..."
Hotel Wrexham ★★★
"There were flies in the bathroom and the carpets were worn … But the service and the Manager Dev was very very rude - at breakfast I was told to use the same tea cup even though I was having a coffee and then a tea - on checkout he was very rude Good location and can be a brilliant place - but terrible - really disappointed"
The Hand Hotel ★★★
"Only stopped for evening meal of one chicken curry and one steak & chips. The curry was OK, nothing special, the steak was very sinewy so even the steak knife couldn't cut through it. Several staff asked how our meals were, I said the steak was hard work (and tasted mostly of the pan it was cooked in) and each time they just wandered off obviously not knowing what the hell to do next. Note to hotel owner, please train your staff to attend to customers properly as well as take their money off them."
Travelodge Wrexham Hotel ★★★
"Worth for what we paid..very clean amd comfortable. Has starbucks and costa beside."
Oak Mead ★★★★
"Visited for one night for a local event, should have booked two! Bathed in sunlight this place was quite the retreat, so peaceful and the most relaxing break. The grounds were super beautiful and the views of the countryside were lovely from our downstairs apartment. Tastefully decorated and comfortable furnishings aided a really good nights sleep. Having the fridge and small kitchen equipment meant we could handle breakfast in the morning without hassle. If you can handle the winding country road drive in it’s worth a stay here if visiting Chester and surround. Definitely returning. Would even try the other cottage or hobbit pod if the two main doubles were not available. Had a nosy at a distance. Beautiful."
