…stayed on the night of September 18th…I drive a LWB Sprinter van but was still able to park it easily…(a problem I’ve had at other establishments)… …a double en-suite…(Room 1)…was sound for me as it was single occupancy…would it be cramped for a couple…??…I couldn’t say as it’s been a while since I shared a double hotel room with anybody…but it was cosy for me… …Gurkha Restaurant…very busy for a random Wednesday night in mid-September…plenty of people traveling in to have their tea…(or dinner if you’re posh)…food was excellent…I had Raja Rani lamb as my main…it was smashing…👌🏻…the lamb fell apart…if I’d known how big the portions were I wouldn’t have ordered a starter…but I’m a growing boy so I powered through… …the staff were smashing… …I paid £65 for an en-suite double including breakfast…the brekky isn’t a massive, all you can eat kind of affair but it kept me going from 0730 till early afternoon…(and I’m a fat mess)… …would recommend and would defo stay again…

Comfy beds - quiet location, excellent hosts and breakfast. The Inn is run by Ghurkas and there's a number of framed reports in the entrance foyer on soldiers that are worth a read. Also the restaurant has a superb painting above the fireplace. Many thanks 👍

The staff were helpful and friendly.. food in the restaurant was really good .. the gardens were beautiful and well kept. the room was tired and in need of updating .. bed was comfortable but there was noise from the road so a room at the back would be preferable .. bar prices were reasonable

We felt very welcome on checking in, the room may be slightly dated but its clean and renovated bathroom with a lovely deep bath. We had an amazing Nepalese meal in the restaurant, there was lots of products containing milk, but the staff happily understood the needs one of us had and was happy to ensure we had a much larger selection of foods, and all at a very reasonable price. Breakfast was a simple affair, but sets you up for the day and well tended too. We really enjoyed our stay and felt so relaxed for an amazing evening away, we definitely want to return again. Great place to stay when exploring the area

I ordered a King Prawn Sag. I had not eaten here before so when I was served a dish containing a very red sauce I did not realise that it was not a Sag. One mouthful and I was choking and my eyes were running. I had been served a Prawn Vindaloo. They did change it without any problem when I complained is was too hot. However at no stage in several conversations with the staff was an apology given. Not good. In general, we both thought the food was way too salty. The service was indifferent.

Overnight stay for Forest of Dean based event. Budget hotel well placed although room decor extremely tired. Very clean but bathroom definitely needs attention and a plug for the sink would have been a great addition. Evening meal extremely good and staff friendly although service slow. Probably because takeaway orders seem to get preference. No hotel information (apart from menu) in room. Reception advised that included breakfast was from 0730 however kitchen was not opened until nearly 8 which was too late for me, especially as they only do cooked rather than cereal etc. Overall, slightly disappointing stay but bed comfy and cost was fair - or would have been if breakfast had been on time.

Good, tasty view and friendly staff. Enjoyed MOMO starter and Lamb Rani main. Bottle of Gurkha beer went down well too and we were well looked after by the staff who were very welcoming and accommodating.
