Watersmeet Hotel

We had a wonderful 7day stay in this super hotel , Food, service throughout and specially food was top class. The swimming bath was a wonderful bonus ! The beach below is easy to reach by solid steps and it was a joy to go down every day and walk the sand as the tide rolled in and out. Beautiful sunsets from our gorgeous balcony, and then the 3 lighthouses on Lundy and Hartland Point twinkling all night...... We recommend DBB every day. You won't need lunch ! And try the new chocolate souffle.

The location of the hotel and the views from it are outstanding. The staff were very friendfly and helpful. We feel that the piecemeal upgrading of the hotel does detract from the overall experience. For example to funiture in the bedromms and restaurant clearly need updating. Also our seaview room was too hot at night even with the radiator turned off. I asked about why this was but no explanation was forthcoming.

We had a really wonderful stay - the hotel felt so welcoming, calm and warm, and we loved our room. Thank you for your kindness - the views were stunning, the food delicious, the public areas relaxed, and all the staff very friendly. Highly recommended.

This is our third visit to this hotel. A lovely place to stay and relax. The sea views are beautiful. It was lovely to be able to walk down to the beach, then back to the hotel lounge for coffee and cake! The staff were very polite and friendly. The food was great. Use of the indoor pool and jacuzzi were an added benefit. Well done to all the team!

We absolutely love The Watersmeet (so much in fact that we got married here 7 years ago). We visited twice whilst we were on holiday this year. Once for afternoon tea on our wedding anniversary and once for an evening meal on my birthday. Both were absolutely lovely. Cannot fault the food, the service, the surroundings or the view!

In ned of a few days by the sea, and we couldn't have chosen better. Right from the greeting at reception, one of the best sea view rooms we have ever stayed in, the attention of the restaurant staff. This is a small hotel quietly on top of its game! Despite coming towards the end of their season nothing was too much trouble for a young and highly trained staff. Neither a stay nor an address we will forget. We will be back.

We've just returned from three brilliant nights here, staying with some friends, meeting half way. What a lovely hotel; the setting when you arrive is quite breathtaking, perched on the hillside with we reckon to be the best views in Woolacombe. Our visit started off with an exceptionally warm welcome, and our lasting memory of our stay will be the truly first class team who go that extra mile to make the guest experience the best it can be. Without exception, everyone had that special trait you don't always experience with hotel staff, but we'd like to mention in particular Christine and Noah in the restaurant, and Ludek in the bar. We came into contact with them throughout our stay, every day, and they went that extra mile to make our stay so good. The hotel must be very proud of them! Thank you! We wanted a relaxing three night break so we booked dinner every night in the restaurant. The food was first class; the menu choice just right, and the atmosphere and the view was to die for - definitely must have the best view from a restaurant in Woolacombe! Again, the quality of breakfast, and the choice was excellent. So pleased we didn't book anywhere else! What I also loved, which I find so many hotels lack is a wonderful evening atmosphere in the lounges, bar and restaurant. Low lights, candles, no glaring chandeliers, absolutely perfect! Our room (8) was large, very bright and had a very comfortable bed, loads of storage, a bath with a shower over and a fantastic balcony overlooking the sea. What more could you want? All of us loved our stay, in fact so much after we checked out after breakfast we all stayed on for Sunday lunch. Looking forward to coming back again. A summer visit so the lovely outside pool could be enjoyed would be just perfect.

I have stayed at this wonderful hotel many times in the last 15 years, and their recent Award for Excellence for being the Best Waterside Hotel 2024, is no surprise to the many loyal guests who have stayed at this superb and outstanding hotel. Fantastic location, with sea view vistas from the Rocks Restaurant ,the lounge ,and many of the bedrooms. Having worked in the hospitality industry for many years, the team at Watersmeet led by Mark and Ania give exceptional First Class warm attentive service,. They truly know how to make guests feel very welcome, to ensure a perfect holiday break. Lots of energetic walks to Putsborough along Woolacombe gorgeous beach & Baggy Point, Morthoe village & the museum. Breakfasts excellent with a wide variety of fresh options. I especially loved the made to order omelette. Stayed 4 nights and dined each night in the Rocks restaurant, with views to die for from my table, overlooking the sea. Menu choices were very good, although to be honest after my starter and Main, I couldn't find room for dessert, but they did look scrummy. The bathroom L'Occitane products are heavenly, could we have a body moisturiser please? Once again, loved my stay , I feel very refreshed and pampered after my break at this lovely waterside gem of a hotel., and I will of course be back.

Lovely welcome at the Watersmeet Hotel! Beautiful building and our room was lovely! Room 4 was a sun trap when the sun came out. We even managed to sunbath in October!!!! Great tea , coffee and biscuits in room. We had robes but no slippers but we really didn’t mind not having any. Our room had a very powerful shower no bath! Lovely fancy shampoos etc. restaurant had beautiful views! Breakfast was delicious. Evening meals were limited for veggies but otherwise very good. Husbands steak was a little fatty , they gave us a refund which we didn’t expect (very kind of them) . Staff were all lovely!!!! Indoor pool was clean, hot tub was great! Steam room takes a little while to heat up (just tell receptionist to pop on) Will definitely return in the new year! Excellent quiet location, ten minute flat walk to the village (only a handful of shops). Thank you
