Best Western Woodland Inn

We had to wait nearly 30 minutes just to find someone to check availability. When we did find someone they seems unprofessional and unconcerned but said they had a room. The price was high but we were tired so we took it. We opened the door to find it slept in and a mess. We backed out and immediately checked out. We were assured we would not be charged but the charge went through two days later. They do not answer their phones - you can let it ring 50 times or more. I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company to get the money back. They are shady.

To start, this hotel doesn't even show on Google Maps. That should have been my first clue.... when we drove there, we couldn't find the hotel easily...the small sign at the end of the driveway (in between 2 industrial buildings) was blocked by a small truck, so we circled around until we finally figured out where to even turn. Strike Two. We checked in at 3pm, and the clerk muttered something about having computer issues. Then after a long wait to get checked in, she told us we weren't going to get room cards because of their computer issues, and staff had to let guests in individually. That's a new one. We went to our event, and returned to the room close to midnight. That's when we discovered the dead insects in the bathroom, and the wi-fi didn't work, and then the TV only got ONE CHANNEL. Must have been those computer issues. The bed wasn't comfortable for 2 older people with bad backs, so we decided our 3 hour drive home would be worth it to sleep in our own bed. We left at midnight and I asked the front desk guy for a receipt to prove we left on time, and he said he couldn't....yeah, probably more of those computer issues. I've tried calling the hotel today, and the phone number doesn't work. I also called main Best Western customer service, and they said the same thing: the phone number didn't work. Email too. Wow wow wow. AVOID!

We stayed at the Woodside,WA location. Overall it was a disappointment. Our rooms had light bulbs missing, face plates for outlet missing, very sloppy paint job, with paint blobs, on several surfaces, several of the pillows cases, and towels had holes in them. The only ice machine in the hotel did not work. For breakfast routinely ran out of food, plates, and silverware. Could hear people talking in hallways while in rooms. It took us about 10 minutes to check in, was told the system was running slow. Was told by several employees that they were the only ones working a certain area, and they would get to stuff when they can. The staff was friendly, but also seemed frustrated with the conditions they were working in.

Well, to start, we waited for 45 minutes to check in with 5 people ahead of us. Why did that take so long? Second, the room was not ready. No towels; the beds were made but looked rumpled, in and out, like someone had lain on both of them; the carpets were filthy and not vacuumed. We are positive that the room was not even close to being cleaned (found a cell phone charger in it) when they finally checked us in at 4:30 (check-in was 3:00). The remote needed new batteries. They left dirty garbage bins and towel bins along with a plunger in a plastic bag outside our room, and it was all still there when we left the next morning. Oh, and the free breakfast, what was left at 8:00 a.m, was so so so bad we had to throw it away. Such a waste of money for this place. This place was an absolute dive, and we will now second-guess all Best Westerns after this horrible stay.

This hotel was a mess. The rooms were dirty, the bedding was stained, and had hair on it. There was masking tape on the walls from a subpar paint attempt. Stained tub, and dim lighting. The younger attendant that so called assisted us was rude and acted like we were a hassle for her. The attendant that helped the following morning was kind and did what she could for us. The wife and I don't feel like we should stay at BW hotels, because of this experience.

Very disappointing stay … one of the main reasons we booked this hotel was because we were looking forward to using the pool and hot tub. But upon check in, we found out they were closed during our stay. That should’ve been clearly indicated online. There was also a stain on our bed, and housekeeping woke us up an hour before check out. We also weren’t told breakfast hours upon check in and missed it. Doubtful we’d book this hotel again.

Breakfast was good and the area around the property felt safe. The outside was nice and bright, but inside was very dark and showing its age. We weren’t expecting the Ritz, but it was definitely below the standard we’re used to for the area. We visit family in Kelso 2-3 times a year and have stayed in 7-8 different hotels that all felt better than this location. Our biggest issue was the cleanliness. Our 3 year old had black feet after running around on the carpet for an hour, and the towels in the bathroom didn’t feel like they’d been thoroughly cleaned. Another strange thing was that there were always housekeeping carts and staff in the hallway, not just during the usual check-in hours, which makes me think they were short staffed and everyone was juggling multiple duties. Housekeeping and breakfast serving staff were friendly and helpful, but the front desk staff didn’t seem like they wanted to be there. They were literally always in the back room and you had to ring a bell to get them, and my mother-in-law said she smelled like **** and seemed out of it. Despite all of this, all the guests were pleasant and friendly, so I may just be overly sensitive to these things. Overall, it was an ok place to stay, but we’ve found much better options for the same or lower price in Ridgefield, Vancouver, or even Kelso, so we’ll stay there next time.

We stayed 2 nights. Everything was wonderful! The check in, the room, the pool, the parking. What would have made it excellent, is if we had gotten a housekeeping visit. Unfortunately we were overlooked, even though we checked at the front desk at 2:30pm after being gone all morning. We were assured they were coming. We left again until 5, but returned to messy beds & dirty towels still. Other than that, it was perfect!

Staff was so friendly and very informative about the area breakfast so great also will definitely come back and stay
