We stayed here for 4 nights over the F1 weekend in the Hayloft apartment which is 3 bedrooms & a shared bathroom. The apartment is shabby & needs a good clean. None of the bedrooms have mirrors in them. The wardrobe in 1 room is not fastened to the wall, it wobbles when you open the door & could easily fall on top of someone, the missing rail on the landing at the top of the stairs leaves a hole large enough for a child to fall through. The bathroom is of a very poor standard with mouldy, black grouting in several places, broken skirting boards and an exposed cable going up into the roof. The toilet flush doesn’t work well & is inadequate for 3 people all trying to get ready in a morning / evening. One of the bedrooms is above the laundry room & we were woken up every morning between 5,30am -6am by a door slamming loudly several times. You expect some noise when staying in a pub but Saturday evening was dreadful with excessive noise until past 1am, with swearing & what sounded like a fight under the bedroom. Surely as a host you would have some awareness of what was going on & think about your paying guests comfort? We had read good things about breakfast but the only choice was a full English which appeared to have been plated up some time before it was actually served as the beans were stuck to the plate & the rest of it was very dry & the bacon was so hard you couldn’t cut through it. The pub closes at 5pm on a Sunday so this is a hotel where you can’t get anything to eat or drink after that time! We weren’t told of this when we checked in. There’s no one around in the evenings so if you had a problem or emergency you have to fend for yourself.
