we have stayed here for years and it keeps getting better. We love the enclosed lawn and garden around the pool and hot tub with picnic benches and a BBQ,and the huge grass area to walk down to the river. It is pretty countryside but there is a gas station and grocery store almost next door and a pizza /draft beer restaurant a 5 minute walk away .20 minute walk to all the facilities of Winthrop historic western town. We were able to park our motorbike outside our window and our door opened to the lawn .The king room was lovely. We were allowed to check in early. There are bicycles available. The breakfast was better than ever.Granola, whole wheat bread to toast, waffles, yoghurt, peaches, cottage cheese, apple juice, real butter, scrambled eggs, sausages, biscuits and gravy.Welcoming, friendly reception.

I had to click when I went in order for this review to allow it to go through… I DID NOT get to stay there due to forest fire and closed route 20 in which was a requirement for us to meet our prepaid locations/events! Also it would be 5/6hr run around for us to just stay there (unable to access our north cascades destinations) due to road closures and the routes we had to use to make our trip work. This route was not closed until AFTER the cut off point of the hotel allowing refunds. This is considered a Natural Disaster ( the public has no control over this!) In cases like these refunds absolutely should be given! Life is expensive as is and to be out this much money($454) because they won’t allow a refund even for natural disaster/“no detour “ road closure, is absurd. All they see in you is money, they do not actually value you as a human being. They office manger was highly rude and unprofessional and talking down to me and even stated “ I don’t have time to help you, and when I do find the email that your booking company needs for me to confirm a refund for it will be a “ NO” this conversation accrued Sep. 2, 2024. Also when you try to get up with the hotel either phone call/email they don’t respond, hold the phone without answering and hang up, that is if the phone number even works/goes through. We tried to get up with them for almost a month awaiting response to emails from the booking company and phones from both them and us as well. DON’T give this place your business, they do people dirty, I have read other reviews of how they have done people.

We needed a clean and comfortable 2-night stay during a hiking trip. This motel was one of the poorest we've stayed in. The good: a full-size coffee pot, a microwave, bedside lamps with phone charge outlets, a fridge - though this was so loud as to keep us up most of the night. The rest: we have rags in better shape than the old, worn out, paper-thin towels; the carpet was filthy; the thin walls meant we heard every guffaw and word from our neighbors (we were on the 2nd floor with a 'river view' which if you looked carefully through the trees, you can see the river; a sliding glass door to your deck that was so heavy and stuck so bad in the tracks that even for a very strong person was almost too heavy to open; the shower head hit me, at 5'5” tall, in the chest; bathroom fan that must be as old as the motel as it was loud as a wagon train; we didn't get a coffee packet refill for day 2; good thing we didn't want to hang anything in the closet as there was one old plastic hanger; sheets that were thin, rough, and very cheap, same with blanket and pillows; bed excruciatingly uncomfortable. At $286 for 2 nights, this was old west highway robbery.
