"Being a 4 star hotel, I would have expected someone to escort us to the room at least. It was a bit difficult to navigate to look for our rooms at the end of a tiring day after visiting legoland and we had a hungry toddler in tow. In addition, the breakfast buffet could be extended to be more inclusive. I would prefer a holiday inn breakfast over this. Being 4 star, I'd expect better. I have experienced hotels within UK and internationally but this one is just similar to any decent holiday inn branch in UK. I have seen better 3 star hotels. Hence, I had higher expectations in terms of service and breakfast. Everything was oridinary and fine like any hotel. We had no time to check out any facility such as swimming pool so cannot comment on that."

"Fantastic location next to the train station and across from the castle, but a very careworn hotel. Carpets thin and worn on the stairs. Bathroom wasn’t as clean as it should be with shower scum on the walls and missing bits from taps. The room was an oven due to the heatwave, they supplied a fan but it didn’t do much, there was also a rubber sheet on the bed which made it much hotter. Key card failed three days in a row needing to be reprogrammed. Could be an amazing premium hotel, but needs a renovation."

"It’s fantastic location and very easy access to restaurants. The room is a bit old. A bit dusty and I found two hairs in the duvet and one towel. A bit annoyed. Strangely I was waken up both days, one by the cleaner at 9:20 am (I opened the door and asked if he can come back later but he suggested he will finish by 1 pm - and assume I will just leave the room with my pyjamas and let him clean) and the second day a wake up call at 6 am to my room which I didn’t request one. It caught me a bit by surprise, considering it should be one of the better hotels."

"We have stayed several times at Charles House Windsor and find it well appointed, charming and spacious. There is no reception, but instructions are given for keypad entry to the building and also the room. It is an old building with quaint rooms. The bathroom in our room bathroom has previously been updated nicely - presumably the other rooms have too. It is well-located a few minutes walk into Windsor town. No parking available, but NCP nearby. The only downside is that the Customer Service is very poor. We have rung and messaged them numerous times about a couple of issues, but have received no response whatsoever. (We were instructed to message them each time we rang, but have never had a response) They are very speedy to send a message after each visit asking if we enjoyed our stay, but do not address the issues raised. We would, nevertheless, still recommend Charles House."
