"My mother-in-law has been staying here for years now and always raves about her experiences. This year, my husband and I spent our anniversary with y’all. My husband was in charge of the flights and I was in charge of booking our stay with you at the inn. Well, on our first day there I realized we flew out a day later than I had expected. Wonderful news, but I had only booked 3 nights with you. Your staff was so accommodating and we were able to get moved to a new room. While I preferred the humming bird cottage (great water pressure, comfy tub, more counter pace), room 3 was adequate. The bed was quite loud (very squeaky LOL) and the sink was hard to use (water flow was tough to access). Also the shower had low water pressure and the tub was slow to drain. These are all things that I realize come with an aging establishment, but wanted you to know. Your staff was so kind and friendly. We love all our meals (and room snacks too) and the ambiance was absolutely delightful. It was a true escape for us both. We will definitely be back again. Thank you for making our 17th anniversary a memorable one. See you soon!"

"My husband and I have stayed at the Inn on Putney Road twice. Both times were lovely stays and we would definitely stay there again if we venture up to that area again. The inn itself is in an old house with a history and stories to tell. The innkeepers have found a way to blend the historic character with modern convenience. The breakfasts at the inn are always delicious, freshly made, with healthy fresh locally sourced food. They alternate days between sweet and savory meals. I am pretty sure they can accommodate special dietary needs or preferences if you let them know in advance. The staff justly pride themselves on providing every guest with a wonderful experience. The inn is also conveniently located whether you are staying in Brattleboro or exploring southern Vermont. Walkable in town and drive able to many attractions in the area."

"My husband and I stayed here Valentine's Day weekend and we couldn't have asked for a nicer place! The Inn is gorgeous with rooms decorated old style but upgraded with gas fireplaces (some rooms have them) and comfy beds and walk in showers. The staff was so nice and helpful and the tavern and restaurant is beautiful with farmhouse style decor, lighting and a huge fireplace. They had live music on Saturday and we ate there again on Sunday (there are not too many restaurants to eat in Newfane, but we liked our two dinners at 1882 tavern in the B & B). It was very romantic, quiet and exactly what we were looking for! We would definitely stay again when we go back to Vermont."

"We chose the Doveberry because it had good reviews but I think those reviewers must have pretty low standards. On the plus side the bedding and sanitary ware were clean and it’s in a great location. But overall the room felt grubby & tired and despite paying the going rate for a decent hotel this was run with minimal overheads. No hotel staff as such, just a local who pops in (he was very friendly and helpful), the continental breakfast was laid out to help yourself (no one visible) - grocery store bags of bagels, paper plates and plastic cutlery that you throw away into a big black trash bin afterwards and paper cups filled pre-made waffle mix (presumably one cup per guest). On the second morning there was no breakfast at all and we had to find somewhere else. We contacted the hotel owner but no reply."

Everything was well-appointed and the host was especially responsive to any requests or questions we had. The pool and outdoor spaces are fully equipped. The grounds are beautiful to walk around.
