I stayed here for 15 nights in Jan/Feb 2022. The price was brilliant – about £34 per night in peak season. The reception is on the first floor (UK floor terminology, or 2nd floor for US!) via lift. My room was on the 3rd floor which apparently was recently refurbished. The accommodation is basic. There is no wardrobe – there are 8 coat hangers, a suitcase stand, a room safe, a drawer, two bedside cubby holes, a double bed, good air conditioning and a flat screen TV (with UK, US and Dutch channels). The floors are tiled. The bathroom had only cold water (no problem for a 30C climate), a bath but no plug, a good shower, a sink (but no plug) and soap and shampoo replaced daily. Towels were also replaced daily. Free breakfast was discontinued (maybe due to Covid) but there was coffee every morning in reception. The local McDonalds provided a very cheap breakfast solution. Wifi in the hotel is brilliant and protected. So, it is a very basic accommodation, but if you are someone who doesn’t want a Jacuzzi and a private beach and is in Curacao to explore and discover this amazing island rather than wallow in luxury, then it is a very cost-effective and satisfactory accommodation – and a 15-night stay went brilliantly. And the location is right in the middle of Punda, Willemstad!

So I found this hotel on Tik Tok and I saw a lot of people going for the day to hang out and eat and drink but it seemed as though no one really STAYED THERE. So my friend and I decided to just STAY there. It is a bit pricier than a lot of the other hotels in the area but it looked super cute. I’ll just say we should have just stayed somewhere else and visited Saint Tropez like everyone else. Our shower was broken the entire trip even after talking to receptionist TWO days in a row. It is pretty apparent that they don’t do deep cleanings because it’s sooo much built dust in the rooms and there was hair all over the toilet. The pool side STAFF was AMAZING I MUST SAY. Like that was the HIGHLIGHT of my stay Dorian, Nathan, Sufarmi, Trez && Shawn were amazing and super friendly and helpful. The pool and the views there are beautiful. The drinks are good. The food is OK. And price point is similar to New York Prices, that’s the best way I know to describe it. $10-$14 a drink.

My stay at Avila Beach was one of the very best vacations I had in a long time. My first visit to Avila Beach was 42 years ago on my honeymoon, and since my husband's passing 5 years ago I wanted to return. Needless to say, things have changed dramatically, but for the better. The food, the staff, the spa and the accommodations were all top notch. God willing, I'd like to make this a yearly trip. I'd also like to extend a special thank you to Vaynis at Cloud Nine Spa, who had hands that were kissed by the angels; Nathania, who was doing double duty at both The Pen and Blues Restaurants and was very helpful in making sure I had everything I needed, and, lastly the two young ladies at the front desk, and forgive me, but I didn't get the name of one, and the other I wrote down, but can't find the paper, but it started with a ”Jean”. Sorry about that, but they were extremely patient and helpful with me when I checked in. Bottom line, this was money well spent and God bless the staff of Avila Beach Hotel for making my trip memorable.

The property itself is nice but there are a few problems but that's not what I want to leave this review for. This review& the low star rating is for an experience that I had with one of the workers, her name begins with K. SHE WORKS PREDOMINANTLY WITH THE PILOTS AND Attendants. She is fair complexioned,on the chubby side& wears glasses. The young lady was helping me when one of the pilots walked up she told me that I will be with you in a second and began to assist him & I said well how can you help him when you're not finished helping me. She responded that she needed to assist him. I posed the question again. This young lady looked me square in my face & instead of explaining to me her sole responsibility, with an attitude of annoyance told me that this white pilot is ”her priority” & continued assisting him. I was offended. to make a long story short.I told her about herself , her lack of professionalism and how EVERY GUEST IS A PRIORITY. I also spoke to the manager(Kim who was absolutely kind, friendly, welcoming, attentive and professional) who the day we were leaving seemed to be chummy ,chummy w/the young lady so I don't think any type of action was taken but I could be wrong. Anyhoo, whoever is reading this you need to RETRAIN some of the people that work there. Also, there needs to be training for all of the housekeepers that clean the rooms. There needs to be a uniform way of doing things. I'm of the persuasion that if I am spending my money I expect a certain level of service which was lacking. Papayago, please take a page out of the book of the Marriott in Grand Cayman. Just came back & service/ALL STAFF was ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 stars!

I'll apologize for taking so long to write this review but I need to do it. We absolutely loved our trip to Curacao and especially our stay at the BijBlauw Hotel. The staff was fantastic and the rooms have so much character. I told Ed that the date of our next trip back to Curacao would depend entirely on the availability of the Seaside Rendezvous room ! The fabulous food and drink always served with a smile while you enjoy the ocean views. The location is great , lots of attractions within walking distance and probably the friendliest island we've ever been to . Thanks to Titia , Ruud , Ed and all the staff for making our stay so memorable , we're coming back either late November or January as soon as we figure out our fall work schedules . Thanks again Randy and Leisa from Canada .
CCompanion785750My friend and I stayed at this hotel for a week in February, 2021 for our winter break! This hotel is so awesome, cozy, and clean. We got free access to the Sea Aquarium, to Madero beach chairs, and free machine coffee (everyday)... very delicious by the way! So close to great restaurants and the beach! If, you want to relax and stay for a few days this is the best location for you and your family!
LLastplaceintheworldStayed here with family August 2024. Very nice boutique hotel in central Willemstad. The hotel compound is expansive and there are rooms and buildings in various areas near to the reception, some require a slight walk from the front desk. There are two small pools in beautiful courtyards in two different locations on the property. Entry to different areas is secured through coded gates between buildings. Wifi is free and fast. This hotel doesnt have a restaurant but it is basically next to Nieuwestraat which is a nightlife hotspot with restaurants and bar patios. Rooms are very clean and boho style. Hotel staff are friendly and nice. Parking is free if you have a rental car but you will have to park on the public streets in front of the reception or on the street behind reception first come first serve. This hotel is probably about a 10 minute walk to the famous Queen Emma floating bridge. Would definitely come back
We stayed for 5 nights. Great location! Good bed and pillows. However, the room was very dirty and they didn't clean it carefully - it took them days to replace the shampoos and conditioners, they didn't sweep, there were layers of dust on the telephone and clock radio (I think months without cleaning); They don't remove hair from the drain - we took a cold shower every day - we called for help twice, they said the water was hot but it wasn't - the water was cold, the shower didn't heat the water. I saw a cockroach in the hallway. Very basic breakfast, it takes time to replace products. Friendly attendants but the night lady is new and gave wrong information about laundry. There is no place to dry clothes and as it is a beach location, those clotheslines (cable) that extend in the shower would be useful. Those who get a room on the left side (ciry view) will hear noise from children in the playground in the square in front, which ends up being noisy until around 11:30 pm. In general, everything was fine, but I was impressed by the lack of cleanliness in the room and the lack of help when we complained about a cold shower.
2251lynetterAfter a mix-up with the reservation, the manager resolved our issue. As someone who frequently stays at hotels on other Caribbean islands, I was not impressed with this property. I believe I read somewhere that they were supposed to have a welcome reception, but I could have misinterpreted the information. The staff at a hotel in the Caribbean should be friendlier. I'm unsure if they were unfriendly because of my complaint or if that's their usual demeanor. A welcome drink and assistance with luggage would be a nice touch for a hotel that is categorized as 5-star. On a positive note, the hotel is within walking distance of Jan Thiel Beach, has a restaurant, and offers good music every night.
GGuest UserWe went in March this year! 7 nights! This very clean hotel with a very friendly attention (a special mention fortifani) the girl working for the afternoon! He has been specially cared for us just when we arrived! The hotel offers a very rich breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. Great room! The hotel is very comfortable and comfortable and the hotel is very comfortable and comfortable. The hotel is located at the side of the other Banda, although it seems unsure at night as there are enough locals, nothing happened, we always walk quietly, but it gives a little fear at night. Great greeting and I hope to come back
The hotel is good for one or maybe two nights max. While the staff is very friendly and accommodating, the room itself needs a serious facelift. The room I was given had furniture that was beat-up and long past its prime. In addition, the blanket in the closet was filled with long hairs and stains. It did not looked like it had been washed in a long time. Overall, despite the less than stellar appearance of the room, the place is fine for a short stop but expect the rooms to be basic and kind of rundown.
