Sir Ralph was an amazing Host, We had a great time and the stay was very Comfortable, But the best part is the breakfast that is served, Really amazing and Mr Ralph prepared everything on his own. Felt like home to me. THANK YOU Sir

A lovely Wilderness setting coupled with super friendly hosting. Rooms and open areas basic but comfortable, lacking in some attention to detail such as aircon not working and TV / Netflex not on demand (bring your passwords).

Das Haus hat eine tolle Lage. Allerdings darf man nicht den Beach Room im Erdgeschoss mieten. Der hat mit Beach nix zu tun. Der angebliche Balkon ist ein ebenerdiger Sitzplatz auf dem Parkplatz. Kein Beach weit und breit. Das Zimmer war voller Schimmel, feucht und die Möbel abgeranzt. Den Besitzer hat es nicht interessiert. Er kümmert sich nicht und hat die guten Bewertungen von den teuren Suiten. Wir kommen nicht t wieder.

Just beautiful! Our stay here was memorable, Benji was an amazing host, so helpful. Our room (the penthouse was amazing, well equipped and with for die for views. Breakfast was excellent with good choices and beautifully presented. We loved our time here and would strongly recommend anyone visiting beautiful Wilderness to make this their choice of stay. The view over the sea is just gorgeous and it is just 5 minutes into main Wilderness with its great restaurants.

We were extremely disappointed on arrival at Whales Way Ocean Retreat as the property was not up to standard, as per the pictures posted on the website and was in dire need of a facelift. We were met by the owner who was inappropriately dressed in dirty shorts and t-shirt and a cigarette dangling from his mouth. He advised us that payment of R2,090 as posted on the site, hadn't gone through and that we should pay at the property. I noticed that the amount on his form was R1,590 and when I queried this, he advised that the amount advised on the site was not for the room advertised, but R1,590 for the Beach Room. This was our last stay of an amazing annual holiday and we were not willing to end our holiday on a sour note and that we would rather continue on home. He then advised that we would be liable for the agent's percentage. An hour later, the amount of R1,980 was deducted from our account. He then later advised that he would refund half the money, as they had managed to secure another guest for the same room. We sent through the relevant banking details to him as requested and to date we have not received any refund or communication, even after a second follow up e-mail regarding this. Due to the above, if anyone is looking for a good standard of accommodation, we would not recommend Whales Way Ocean Retreat.
