This hotel is perfect for a family getaway, just as you’d expect from a Hyatt House: spacious rooms, well-equipped facilities, and a comfortable vibe, even if a bit dated. It’s not free parking, and the front desk can come off as a bit aloof, not overly warm, but despite that, we had a perfect weekend here. Two staff members stood out for being super helpful: one was a young man with glasses. While he seemed reserved, he actually went out of his way to assist us with everything—connecting the TV to streaming, accessing the pool pass, and even finding towels when the pool ran out. The other was Lionna, who works at the bar. She was amazing, always cheerful and willing to help. The food options at the bar restaurant are limited, and I have a picky eater for a son. Lionna offered to make a cup of instant noodles for him—without any upselling or focus on profits. There were also $5 cocktails, which made our night all the more memorable. Overall, the staff was very friendly to children, and there was even a family with five kids staying, who had a great time with the staff. The hotel pool was fantastic, though it was already too cold to swim in September, and it closed at 8 PM. There’s also a barbecue area, and the staff was willing to help light the fire. The family with five kids had stayed a few days and brought marshmallows and other barbecue goodies, making for a wonderful evening together. It was the perfect end-of-summer memory. We originally came to visit the nearby Turtle Back Zoo, but because of this great experience, we plan to return here every year to swim, barbecue, and enjoy their fantastic breakfast offerings.
