Clew Bay Hotel

This was our second stay at Clew Bay Hotel. Again a five star review. Clew Bay is family owned which speaks for itself. However, all of the employees go out of their way each and every day treating us like true family members. Whether they are gathering information for you, connecting you with someone in the community or just checking in on you to make sure you are enjoying your stay. We came for a 10 day visit and can't wait to get back next year! The food was fabulous. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast each morning and had several tasty lunches and dinners at the hotel restaurant. All around, the hotel went above and beyond right down to the last moment... Accommodating us with a car ride from an employee to get us to the train station with 10 minutes to spare. All around, the hotel, the owners and staff and the accommodations were superb. This was our second stay in the Clew Bay Hotel and I'm happy to find it as clean and comfortable as ever. The location couldn't be better and it's great value for money. There is a great bar and restaurant so if you're tired or the weather isn't good, you don't have to venture out. They had both an art exhibition and a play on while we were there too, supporting the local arts. The breakfast is to die for - an abundance of hot/cold/Irish/continental, locally sourced and all delicious. The stand-out feature for me though, is the staff. Without exception, they are genuinely welcoming, friendly, helpful and engaging. They make the stay an absolute joy. Westport is a great destination and the Clew Bay Hotel is the icing on the cake.

The Clew Bay Hotel staff including front of office, and cleaners were very welcoming and friendly. The bed and breakfast rate was very reasonable. The service and quality of food was excellent in the restaurant and staff were efficient and friendly. Accomodation was very comfortable and our room had a lovely view of the flowing river with a small waterfall. Parking close to the hotel was ideal and at a cost of just €3 per day. We will certainly be coming back to the Clew Bay Hotel at some time in the future.

Lovely hotel in great location in Westport town. Rooms were a good size and beds comfortable. Breakfast was full Irish and really well presented! Great to have a car park next door at only 3 euro per day. Good value for money, and within easy walking distance of all central restaurants and bars in Westport. Only recommendation would be a safe in the rooms.

We spent a 3 night break in Clew Bay last weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It is clear to see Clew Bay is a very well run Hotel with the owner/manager Darren on hand at all times. We had a lovely room. Breakfast was cooked to order with great quality produce & selection. The Hotel is located very conveniently to access town centre. A short walk up the street & through an archway brings you to the main area of bars & shops( 3 mins.) or 5 mins if you take the longer route! Although the Hotel does not have a car park the public carpark is right next door with plenty of spaces & only a 2 minute walk to Hotel entrance. The cost per day is only €3 & we discovered Sunday was free. The Clew Bay provides a lovely relaxing atmosphere for a little down time. The Hotel bar is a nice space to enjoy a relaxing drink or a cocktail or 2! Our one regret is we did not dine in the restaurant for evening food. On arrival we just felt like casual dining & as there is no bar food option in Clew Bay, we went elsewhere. I would not hesitate to recommend Clew Bay as a great place to stay. In fact I would consider it a 4 star for the comfort, location, food, staff and all-around service. We will look forward to making a return visit in the future.

Well we actually did not go, not for the lack of trying. We had stayed there in February and really enjoyed it. So we booked October 31st and because we were returning customers were given the generous rate of 115e for one night b+b. A couple of days later we decided to make it a two night stay and tried to book Wed the 30th. Instead of getting the same or similar rate , we were quoted 160e forvthe Wed , making a grand total of 275e. I emailed the hotel complaining and instead of getting treated with apologetic behaviour, we were given the exhorbinate price if 300e by the self appointed master of all price quotes Anton. All this, when my wife noticed on Facebook that there was a midweek offer of 198e fir two nights!!!!! I don't know howcthe owner Darren Moody can allow this overprinting to carry on in this fine historic hotel. Just be careful if you want to book that you get the right rate . Such a shame as its a lovely hotel.

I always enjoy this Family owned Hotel, as a Solo traveller, it is great value for money with 5 Star facilities👍😊🙌. Excellent location in Westport town. The room is so relaxing and comfortable, spotlessly clean with Quality Bed Lined. Beautiful Bathroom with great power shower and fluffy towels. Good selection of TV Channels! The Breakfast has a huge spread of cereals, fruit, yogurt and pastries with the addition of freshly cooked eggs, bacon etc. I also enjoyed the tasty dinner on one evening. Staff are friendly, efficient & professional. Good Luck always to Darren, Maria & Staff - can’t wait to return😊🙃

A lovely hotel, where the staff are extremely friendly. The rooms were clean and well laid out. It has an old school feel to it, and you can hear some noise from other rooms from time to time if you have noisy neighbours, but I was facing the back of the hotel and got a good sleep overall as the bed was super comfy. The breakfast (and staff again) were very nice. They have a deal with the local leisure place where you can use their swimming pool, but the spa is under construction at the moment. I would stay there again due to comfort and excellent service.

First time my partner and I stayed in the Clew Bay Hotel and we were made more than welcome from Aoife on reception. Our room was lovely very clean and bed very comfortable. Staff in the restaurant could not do enought for you. We had both dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and the food was very good. We would definitely be back and would recommend the hotel to anyone and to cap it all its a short walk from the railway station and short walk to the pubs and the shops in the centre.
