The overall hotel is as leisurely as ever, but the facilities are indeed aging, the phone in the room does not work, the shower gel pump is broken, and the restaurant menu has also deteriorated.

It is really difficult to find a hotel abroad. It is very close to the meeting place. The hotel is relatively safe and has complete service facilities. It is clean and tidy. There is no need to think about other things.

On the whole an excellent stay with excellent staff. Serving soup on cold plates was disappointing. Entitling one dish on the menu ‘Pig’s Head’ did not sound very appetising! The presence of our canine friends everywhere was a great joy. Mr and Mrs Richard HEMING.

We stayed here for one night as we were attending a wedding at The Kennels. We had asked for an early checkin due to the timing of the wedding and we’re told that they couldn’t guarantee this but would make a note on their system. When we got there, our room was available, which was a huge relief! Gorgeous hotel, room was really comfy and super clean. Breakfast was delicious - even though we went down right at the end of the service, there was plenty available and, if you did find something lacking, the staff were happy to replenish. Very friendly and professional staff. It’s a little out of our price range for a regular visit but made the wedding trip a really special occasion. Well done team!

The truth is …this is my third stay at this hotel. The first two times, both my wife and I loved it. The walks in the grounds around Goodwood House, afternoon drink at The Kennels and spending time watching the sports cars driving around The Motor Circuit just down the road and the occasional Spitfire flying overhead. This time, I was a little disappointed. I had rung the hotel to say it was a special occasion (my wife’s birthday) so we had decided as a ‘last minute’ thing to spend a couple days at ‘one of our favourite hotels’. I was informed that I would be given a ‘good room’. On arrival, we were given Room 359 which was along the corridor, up the threadbare stairs, along another corridor and at the end. Ok, fair enough. Opening the room, we found a very small box of chocolates with a note saying ‘Happy birthday’. Ok, fair enough… We booked food in the ‘Bar and Grill’ restaurant only to find a limited menu. The next day, we found that the swimming pool had swimming lessons and lanes. The TV in the room is old (not a Smart TV, so no streaming channels!) Wi-Fi was ‘hit and miss’. I was kept awake each night by doors slamming and people talking loudly as they walk passed the room at around midnight. We left the sign on our door for our room to be serviced only to find that none of the dirty cups/glasses had been removed, no replacement coffee pods/tea bags. This happened every day of our stay. All in all, I feel that the standards have dropped. I hope you can upgrade your services.

There were some lovely things about our 2 day stay here. First, the room was modern, clean and quiet. Second, the breakfast was the BEST we had all through our driving trip. The Continental breakfast was fabulous. However, the coffee maker was ridiculous. (Get someone to serve it.) Parking was easy. The staff were very cheerful. However, they need a better selection for dinner meals somewhere in the hotel. We ended up going to a local pub a mile away. Also, I never received information regarding the health club and the services offered. I saw a woman with a robe one day wondering where she was going. This could be remedied easily by a simple brochure in the room.

I honestly thought this would be a great hotel, providing a sumptuous room and a true 4 or 5 star experience. Sadly I was disappointed. My room had the shower in a bath set up. Not ideal. The corridor outside my room was the main route to the car park so the noise from people passing was constant and loud. The twin beds were very narrow. Trying to find a plug for a phone charger was ridiculous. Worse was the restaurant. We couldn’t get into the ‘Butchers’ so tried the other restaurant. OMG - very little on the menu, and most of what was on there wasn’t available!! We chose a Burger which then took 70 minutes to arrive. Service was very bad. We went to the bar but the tables and bar itself hadn’t been wiped clean all night so we went back to our beds and gave up.

We haven't been since 2016 as we were so disappointed by that last visit. This time we wanted a couple of days away midweek with access to a pool and gym. The room was a long way from reception involving several stairs. The room was nice - as always but I was surprised to find that there wasn't a fridge and although there was a posh coffee machine but only UHT milk. There aren't many sockets which are in the right place for recharging devices. Breakfast was very nice, served in Farmer, Butcher etc. good quality food with hot food cooked to order although some days the staff were struggling to keep up with the food orders. The staff don't wear uniform or name badges so to start with it hard to know who is who, however they were all very pleasant and helpful. Sadly coffee comes from a machine and is dispensed into nasty mugs, teapots are a strange red & white enamel. We didn't eat at the hotel in the evening - we couldn't find an up to date menu - the menu on the website was labelled as the Spring menu even though it was the end of August, what we saw looked pricey and not very interesting. The pool and gym were fine although when we tried to use the pool in the afternoon half was blocked for family use which was fine but half of the remaining space was blocked off for private lessons which didn't leave much for the rest of us.

We had a fabulous stay at the Goodwood Hotel, staying for two nights in August. On arrival, the staff were incredibly warm, friendly and welcoming and they couldn't do enough to make us feel immediately comfortable. Our room was immaculate with modern yet interesting decor and we didn't hear a peep from other rooms during our stay. The bed was very comfy and the bathroom was lovely, with a powerful shower and bath too. We made the most of all the amenities on site. The pool and leisure facilities were complimentary and I had a lovely round of golf on the Park course, whilst my wife enjoyed a swim and relax. Eating in the restaurant was a real treat. The evening menu was delicious; exquisite courses washed down with a selection of lovely wines. Once again, the service was excellent and we polished off the evening in the bar, relaxing in one of the well furnished ante rooms. All in all, it was a heavenly couple of days. The estate is full accessible and we enjoyed walking around the park, watching vintage cars blast round the race track, and had a treat seeing the Spitfire take off too. A really lovely stay.
