Kings Arms Hotel by Greene King Inns

Was here to eat last month and meal was very mediocre. Happy to say we decided to give it another try and really enjoyed our lunch here recently. Met chef Luke and was delighted with the quality and quantity of our food and service. Will be back!

Positives; Food was really good, staff were really friendly and helpful. This improved the experience immensely. Impressive size room with high ceilings Good location Negatives; The room decoration wise was very tired, if I was the owner I wouldn’t advertise the room until the problems were fixed. Some very easy fixes for a handyman. Bathroom; Toilet barely flushed, extractor fan just randomly comes on and is super loud. Paint coming off ceiling, The bath surround pops out when you close the door. Main room; Carpet has lots of holes in, wallpaper is ripped. It also had a door to another room within the room itself, rather odd and you can hear everything going on.

We were in the King Henry VIII room which wasn't bad, old, needs a bit of a face lift. All amenities were in good working order. The breakfast was tasty but basic. Flooring in dining room needs levelling. Overall a quaint pub hotel with ole world feel.

Being an old building i was not expecting a condition of decor like a new Hotel. But to me everything was in keeping with the History and age of the building. OK the stairs were worn and a bit if wall paper torn but so what. The two most important things are the bed and the food. Both of which was first class. Staff were so friendly too. Westerham a lovely little town too.

Sheets were clean, bed was comfy, location was great for the night of our Son & Daughter-in-law’s wedding BUT, the room was really shabby. Moth holes in the carpets, ancient wallpaper peeling off, bathroom ceiling hanging down and the furniture looked like it came from a house clearance, everywhere was shabby. They put their class recycling out at roughy 6am so no need for an alarm clock. The staff were friendly and helpful. We wouldn’t stay there again unless it was our very last resort.

Such a disappointment This hotel is “tired” : ripped wallpaper in the bedroom, peint coming of the walls, bathroom ceiling peeling off, dirty and worn out carpet, burning hot water, toilet flush not working properly, we had to use a bucket to flush!… very loud extractor fan in the bathroom… unbelievable! This place is not looked after/invested in! If we had paid 30€ for the room, we wouldn’t have complained… but we paid 100€! Nobody asked us as we left, if everything was ok… we understand why!

Stayed her again for one week in July due to work activities at Biggin Hill airport. The accomodation, parking, food and service was wonderful. The hotel staff were exemplary, and a credit to Green King who own the facility. The manager Anthony was extremely helpful from start to finish, and Hannah, Sam and Lizzie [to name a few] added every effort to ensure I was well looked after during my stay. Westerham is a beautiful village/town and has many lovely shops and restaurants....if you are really lucky you'll spot few 'day-time' television celebrities, politicians and other famous faces eating and drinking in some of the local establishments !!!! Will definitely return to the Kings Arms in the near future.

Large inn / hotel / restaurant in centre of town with free parking on site. We had a lovely stay while in the area fishing. Although the rooms are a little tired, they are trying to improve within the restrictions imposed by its listed status. That said the rooms were clean, comfortable and well appointed, especially mine with the four poster bed! Staff were attentive and helpful, the welcome was warm, check in faultless and prices reasonable. We will definitely be back.

Stayed at the King's Arms, Westerham for two nights in June 2024, to facilitate a visit to Hever Castle and Biggin Hill. Basically, we had a great stay there. We had room 5 "Henry VIII" room, a large room with a 4 poster bed, big TV, wardrobe, drawers, chairs, tea and coffee facilities. Also a huge bathroom with a corner shower and a free standing bath, wash basin and WC. Plenty of controllable hot water and big bath towels. There was an iron, ironing board, hair drier and fan. It was warm and comfortable and there was nothing missing. We needed more milk and decaffeinated tea which housekeeping were quick to provide. The restaurant had a good selection of well prepared dishes with 20% off the already competitive prices for lunch and dinner for residents and there was a free car park for residents (give reception your vehicle registration on arrival). I admit it could have done with a bit of a refresh. The floors squeaked and were slightly uneven but this place looks like an old coaching house so I'm not surprised the building has "settled" a bit. Could do with a coat of paint here and there but it hardly distracted from our overall experience. In summary, this hotel is fine and we were totally satisfied with our stay there. Thanks to all of the reception, service and restaurant staff for making our stay so enjoyable.
