Zappeion Apartments

I am 8 months pregnant and booked this accommodation due to requiring an urgent medical appointment in Perth. To say this accommodation is dirty is an understatement. The images that are presented on its website are misleading and quite frankly false advertisement. The beds are NOT king size, they are two single beds pushed together. The top sheet hadn’t been washed as there was other people’s hair on it. The carpets are horrifically stained through the entire apartment. The walls are covered in hand prints, food and scuff marks. The ceiling has cobwebs. The bathroom showers are covered in mould. The bed heads have never been cleaned, dust is hanging off of them. The curtains and blinds are broken and filthy. The couches are disgusting and covered in food and hand marks. We had to put blankets down to sit on them. They are extremely uncomfortable because they are so worn also. Feels like you are sitting on the ground. They provided tea bags but not coffee cups or drinking glasses. No wifi or welcome booklet provided although it states it on the website. The toilet seats don’t even fit the toilet and are broken. It was the most disgusting place I have ever stayed in. If you don’t believe me, have a look at the photos attached to this review. I contacted the hotel once departing to ask why the hotel hadn’t been cleaned properly to which they apologised and said a manger would get back to me. No contact from the hotel manager. I find it morally wrong to continue advertising rooms on their social media and website that don’t fit the current state of the hotel. It is taking advantage of people who need somewhere to sleep. They should be ashamed of themselves. I cannot believe they charge $200 bond for such a disgracefully kept apartment. Will never stay here again.

Avoid this place! Rooms are dirty, carpets filthy, bed linen with stains, mouldy bathroom. If I could give negative stars I would. Management are appalling they do not care about their guests. Sent them messages regarding the below par standard of the room, they read the messages and did not respond. At check in they said the $200 bond that were weren’t even aware he had to pay was going to be doubled because we had 3 people checked in (even though it was a room that slept 4) we should have got a refund and left immediately but sadly we didn’t. They still have our $400 bond and refusing to return calls/messages. Check out the many poor reviews all saying the same thing. No idea how anyone could say it was a great place to stay. I can only assume they are fake reviews they put up themselves. So much more I could say but trust me just take your hard earned money elsewhere and save yourself a terrible experience.

Third time we've stayed here over 5 year period. First two times great, this time very average. Unit in bad condition, blinds falling apart, bedside lamps don't work, had to re-program tv channels after everytime it was turned off, had a powerboard connected to a lamp placed under a pillow in a bed, grubby carpet and the unit stunk. Definitely wouldn't recommend.

We booked a room at Zappeion Apartments with the assumption that it would be clean, quiet and with working appliances; an expectation most people would have when staying at any hotel/apartment. Upon our arrival, the apartment looked as though it had not been cleaned. There were gnats in one of the bathrooms and on the towels, sticky stains on the table, empty alcohol bottles on the balcony, and the carpets were covered in stains and looked as though they had not been vacuumed. We informed management and they sent around a housekeeper who brought us new towels and disposed of the empty bottles. That was about the extent of the service we received while staying there. We found a giant cockroach in the bathroom on the third night and ended up having to purchase bug spray for it and the gnats. The door that led to the hot water system on the balcony wouldn't shut properly and kept slamming throughout the time we were there. The air conditioning systems kept randomly making loud noises. On one of the nights, the occupants in the apartment above us were stomping and yelling until about 4am in the morning despite reception informing us about quiet hours from 9pm onward. The washing machine made a copious amount of noise during its spin cycle. We put our clothes to dry in the dryer overnight, and they were still soaking wet the following morning. When we tried to rewash them because they smelled, the entire spin cycle didn't even work and dirty water spilled everywhere when we had to take the clothes out. Ended up having to take the clothes to wash and dry at a laundromat. Had to pay for parking to use the parking spot allocated for our particular apartment, which happened to be right next to the overflowing, smelly bins which were not emptied throughout our week long stay there. Don't waste your money staying at Zappeion Apartments and their useless service. Stay literally anywhere else instead and I guarantee you'd get a better experience.
