Homegate Inn & Suites West Memphis

UGH! Check in was horrible. Even though we had received an e-mail through our booking website confirming everything, we arrived to discover they could not find our reservation. At some point, someone cancelled our reservation and it wasn't us! We were notified by email that there was a problem but we were on the road (2 hours away) and without internet service. We had consistent problems with keeping our internet connection. We were excited to be able to watch the Olympics, but had issues with the television. The front desk attendant had to go in manually from the office to fix that. Of the places booked on our trip, this was not one expected to have difficulties, but that is what we had. Thankfully it was just for overnight.

The hotel is clean and comfortable. It is simple but very nice! We had plenty of room and it was very quiet! The bed was comfortable. There is no breakfast. One drawback is that it is hard to get to. There is a road that you must turn on to that comes quickly.

This is by far the best place to stay in West Memphis for an economical stay. The reason is great management. My wife is very particular and she approves. Very clean which is the most important to us. The location is just a short hop across the bridge to downtown Memphis.

Surprisingly nice room- clean & spacious. Comfy bed & nice to have a garden style room- just walked out to our car. Looked like the room was recently painted, with new carpet & bathroom make over. It’s a nice place!

We were not sure what to expect but we were surprised and pleased with this motel. It is clean and comfortable. The price is low and a great value. It’s located right by the interstate but we didn’t notice any loud noise. We highly recommended it.

I did not expect much when I booked this place. I was shocked to find a large room, well cleaned and nice. The bed was so comfortable! Best sleep I had my entire trip! The staff was friendly. The place was well lit and I felt safe. This is really a hidden gem that you would not expect! For the price you can’t beat it!!

We needed a place to spend the night in West Memphis and I made reservations here after reading the reviews. When we arrived, I immediately had second thoughts, saw that this is an old motel building that has only outside entrances to all the rooms. It had obviously been remodeled as the outside was clean and nicely painted. But it did not help that the main lobby door was locked and I had to enter an "After Hours" check-in lobby and transact my business through a glass window even though it was only 4:30 in the afternoon. I got the keys to our rooms which were on the second floor with outdoor stairways and no elevator. The door locks had been upgraded to proximity locks with key cards and when we opened the door we were pleasantly surprised. The rooms had been very nicely redone, upgraded to the point that they were as nice as any of the major "mid-priced" chains. Since I'm not sure what that even means any more, I'm thinking of Comfort Suites, Hampton, Fairfield, etc. That's how nice the rooms themselves were. And the rooms and bathrooms were super clean! There were no hooks or shelves or even a soap dish in the shower area, but the remodel was very well done, everything was new and super clean. Everything in the room worked as expected except the hair dryer in one of the rooms would not function even though the outlet was good. So, yes we'd stay here again if in the area for an overnight. Positives were how nice and how clean the rooms were. Negatives were check-in, outside entrances and no elevator.

This hotel is a little gem! And at an affordable rate! Our guest room was extremely CLEAN!! Not one hair on bedding/towels. Surface areas dust free, floor well vacuumed! Very updated interior with comfortable furnishings. WiFi was excellent! Easy & friendly service. In fact, gentleman at desk who checked us in, even helped us find a suitable parking spot for our big truck & U-haul. Overall, exceeded our expectations! And 10 times better than the Hampton Inn we stayed in the night before!

Still no breakfast due to COVID, which at this point is not a "temporary" closure. Plenty of hotels are offering at least a breakfast to go. Bigger issue was bathroom cleanliness: the shower curtain liner (which is detachable and machine washable) had obvious pink mildew and the tub itself had a residue on the bottom. The towels were clean, but some had faded stains from what looks like makeup. The quality of TV reception was also rather poor. On the positive side, the room is quite spacious and nicely decorated and the hotel staff were friendly.
