On arrival at the pub/hotel we were told that the pub shuts at around 10.30 -11.00pm and if we returned after it was closed the rear yard has a gate that will be open which then leads to a back door with a digital lock. The code is in the room guide along with emergency number. On our return from a retirement party in the town the pub was indeed shut. The back gate was also shut and locked. We therefore were locked out. I tried calling their emergency number a lot of times but only answer phone was available. I left voicemail message each time stressing the urgency. My wife and i are mid60's so not able to scale a tall double gate ! Or car keys and belongings were in the room. After about 25-30 minutes of discussing what to do a female passer by offered to help and tried calling someone she knew involved with the pub. But she had no joy either. In the end she scaled the gate and unlocked the gate from the inside. The back door of the pub was wide open which in itself is a security risk but we got into the room. In the morning we tried to shower but there was no hot water and no heating, we even left the shower running for 10 minutes just in case, but no shower for us at all. The double bed is two singles pushed together and on casters which slides all over the room when sat on. Their is no staff on site at all during the night and morning until pub opens at 1200. This place is a joke and did not respond to my voice messages or emails. They charged £120 for this appalling excuse for a hotel. Do not stay here you'll regret it.

Very disappointed with the customer service at this hotel, I accidentally left a very sentimental item in the room when I stayed at the hotel, I contacted them straight away to ask them to check for it and send it back to me (I offered to pay for the postage) but I had no response to numerous emails, phone calls, and also messages on their Facebook page. I live over 5 hrs away from the hotel so could not go back to see them in person. I am incredibly distraught to have lost this item and extremely disappointed with the customer service here, they did not even acknowledge my emails or messages, this is very poor customer service!

Unfortunately stayed on the hottest day of the year. Box sash window wouldn't stay open. Reported to the lady behind the bar and asked if something could be jammed in to keep it open. She said she'd ask the manager. I went out for the evening to come back to a sweltering room. Window not fixed, pub downstairs closed, no staff on site. Spent the next hour trying to get another hotel. No luck. Didn't sleep a wink all night as too hot and no air. Looked and felt like a zombie for an important meeting the following morning. Will never return.

Family business run by lovely people, from the minute I arrived I was made so welcome and it is the only hotel I've stayed in where it is obvious that the owner genuinely cared that I was having a good stay, nothing was too much trouble and I felt very looked after. Room was very big, the bed was big and very very comfortable with lovely crisp with bedding. Great walk in rain shower and the deepest bath ever, would definitely be big enough for 2 !! Perfect location for a weekend break, right in the centre of West Malling with fabulous restaurants right on the doorstep, spoilt for choice for dinner each evening. The hotel had a live band on the Friday night which is a nice touch after going out for dinner and also a bit of music on the Saturday night, just everything for a good weekend break. I als0 stayed mid week as I was working locally and the place is nice and quiet Mon - Thurs, so go some rest while I was working away. Would definitely visit again with friends for a weekend, thanks to everyone at No64 for looking after me.

This is NOT a boutique hotel, I’m half way through my stay and it’s a Friday night after work at 11pm and My room is above a nightclub. I’m staying here while I’m working away from home and if I hadn’t paid upfront I would be moving. My bed is made every day but nothing is cleaned, tea is still in the mugs and biscuit crumbs in the tea tray. The bath plug doesn’t work so doesn’t hold water, I was given a plastic plug that doesn’t fit. !!!

I have to agree with the earlier reviews that although the room looked lovely in the pictures it just stinks of stale cigarettes. It is above a smoking area but the stink is in everything, the bathrobes, bedding, towels, everything. I'm unsure if we were given the same room as earlier reviews or the stink is in all the rooms. Our room also had a major issue with a luminous green fire escape light. It is for a large corridor lighting system not a small room. The whole room lights up green all night and it is very difficult to sleep. The owners have clearly tried to dull it down by sticking Gaffa tape over parts of it but it doesn't work.(They cannot say that they are unaware of it with Gaffa tape on it) Our room was also dirty. The bath robe had a very dubious brown stain on it so it wasn't used by us. We had NO toilet paper, again , apart the used bit left down the toilet by the previous occupants or the cleaners. As soon as you touch the bed it is really noisy, let alone trying to sleep on it. We would have complained on the night, but there were no staff there to complain to, also on checkout no one about. All in all a very, very poor experience. As there is no parking, no breakfast and no chance of getting to sleep it is an absolute waste of money. I would not return if it were free! At the prices they charge they should be ashamed of themselves. Spend your money elsewhere!!!

Lovely last minute stay in the Olivia room. I stayed at no64 a number of years ago and at last minute (a few days before) I was luckily able to book a room as I needed a halfway point to my destination the following day. Check in was very quick and simple with the friendly landlord showing me to the room. The bathroom was beautiful, it looked brand new and the tiling was exquisite! The bed was extremely comfortable. Beautifully decorated as I remembered. There is some noise from the high street outside but there are shutters and curtains provided to help block it out and it did not disturb me getting to sleep. I also see previous complaints about a green fire safety light in the room which there is but again, this did not prevent me getting to sleep and I actually found it helpful so that it wasn’t pitch black trying to find the toilet in the middle of the night! Good quality toiletries and biscuits provided. I had to leave early in the morning and dropping my keys was simple. Would recommend - great location, friendly and knowledgeable landlord, great atmosphere in the pub downstairs.
