The Charlie West Hollywood

The Charlie Hotel is a nice getaway. It's something very unique in busy West-Hollywood. Peaceful, relaxing and so beautiful. I definitely will come for a longer stay the next time :)

I have never been so surprised in my life as when I walked into the beautiful hidden courtyard of the Charlie hotel. I immediatly experienced a nostalgic rush back in time. It is like a tiny beautiful village in England in the 1920s. This adventurous home of the genius movie star Charlie Chaplin is hard to describe but the beautiful suites in small gorgeous cottages are perfect in every way. It was like a dream staying at Charlies. I will never stay anywhere elsecwhen I am il Los Angeles.

The Charlie is a West Hollywood English Bungalow with an iconic history. This particular set of bungalows offers a lush indoor courtyard with some private and shared areas. It was host to many celebrity guests, back in "the day". My bungalow had gorgeous wood floors, white walls and tasteful decor. I appreciated the courtyard, washer/dryer, strong shower, kitchen, dining table and comfy couch. The stairs are fairly steep, but that isn't a problem for me. Not all of the bungalow's have stairs. I like to eat out when in LA, but it was difficult for the two of us to peel ourselves away. The location is perfect for walking to great restaurants and even The Grove (I like to walk if I have time). Uber is readily available if you prefer. They do offer parking. You will find water, laundry detergent, coffee and other items available for purchase. They do offer two complimentary bottles of water upon arrival. Unfortunately for me, they no longer allow dogs on the property. It's also helpful to know that office hours are 9am to 5pm, so let them know your arrival time. Checkout is 12pm, which I love! The staff was incredibly nice and accommodating. Highly recommended.

Memorable stay in a beautiful and serene space with unique architecture and history, practically an oasis in West Hollywood. We stayed in the Charlie cottage and had everything and more to feel comfortable and at home there, wish we could have stayed a full week.

Every detail of our room came together to create a welcoming and thoughtful experience that made us wish we could move it. They maintain the charm of a quaint British cottage while incorporating updated features that add to the luxury of the space. It's perfectly located to offer a quiet, cozy stay while also within very close walking distance of shops and restaurants. Top notch.
