Excellent hotel and restaurant with staff to match! My wife and I were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and with my wife being immunosuppressed it was especially important that she felt comfortable, I can honestly say the staff were very considerate and respectful of her situation all of which made our stay really special and was truly appreciated. Will return without hesitation to this fantastic place!

I have decided that outside of London, this is my favourite location to eat and relax. We had Lunch again yesterday, and it was superb. The souffle' was heavenly ,as was the brioche ,the like of which has never been bettered in my book. All the staff are wonderful, but special mention should be made of the Doormen, who are so kind and obliging, and Alison, who has been there all the years we have been going. A gem. It is perfect for a low key celebration, and has real style and ambience in an understated way. So many places have now resorted to a sort of excess in decoration and glitz which is vulgar ,and pretentious, and is prompted only by the money. How refreshing this has not been embraced by Gravetye Manor. We shall return.

We are Americans who stayed in 4 different 5-star luxury hotels during our 17 day trip to the UK countryside, and Gravetye Manor stood out as providing the most exceptionally beautiful and romantic setting and perfect service. From the moment we entered the property and were greeted by a valet who immediatley helped with our luggage, to the end of our stay when our final bill was easily appropriately reconciled and our abundant luggage was taken back to our vehicle , we felt welcomed, pampered, relaxed, and catered to, but without arrogance or pretense. The grounds are enchanting (this would make a great wedding venue) , and there are woodland walks to nearby areas of interest with helpful written instructions provided by the inn. The kitchen makes good use of Gravetye's extensive garden products, which are incorporated into the luxury multi-course tasting menu as well as breakfast fruit offerings. "Izzy" at reception went out of her way to accomodate us on a short notice massage request provided by "Luuby" personnel who came to the site to do in-room massage. All the staff were friendly and helpful and not a single one was surly or unprofessional. Our "Pear" suite was spacious and comfortable, with a free-standing copper-coated bathtub with smooth comfortable edges, abundant soft towels and robes, and beautifully scented and gentle toiletries. This is an exceptional luxury inn, very close to London and London Heathrow, worth every penny it commands. We will make a point of returning here when we are back in the London area, and will also refer friends.

We stayed overnight recently to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We had the most beautiful room with every possible amenity, and the staff were all attentive, friendly and welcoming. We have visited Gravetye many times over the past 40 years, and can honestly say it’s better than ever!

Gravetye is our go to local best restaurant. We had an Anniversary lunch delayed by a taxi miscommunication which meant we were hustled into the dining room without the opportunity to relax with a pre lunch drink. Pity. Salad course was delicious but venison tartare was roughly chopped and could have been more finely prepared.. Crab starter was delicious. Main courses of sea bass and lamb were fine but nor exceptional which we have come to expect from Gravetye. Big issue is the wine list pricing. There is little value under £100 and much thereafter greatly overpriced. The £70+ lunch menu suddenly becomes a £400 lunch for two!

Had an amazing stay at this beautiful hotel. Service, food and wines were lovely and finished off with a lovely breakfast with a beautiful outlook from the restaurant on the morning. Has lovely grounds to have a little stroll before or after dinner. Will definitely revisit.

Superb experience from the moment we arrived for lunch to when, regrettably, it finished. Attentive and yet nicely understated service all the way. At first glance, the size of the (several) courses may seem miserly but, in fact, they turned out to be perfectly balanced and satisfying. On the basis that 'you pay for what you get', lunch is very good value, the entire experience offset by such peaceful and beautiful surroundings. This really is a world apart.

One of the most magical hotels we have ever stayed in. The gardens are unique and mind blowingly beautiful, the house immaculately restored and maintained, stunning rooms, and some of the best food we have ever eaten in the UK. We have stayed twice and hope to again
