First of all, when we booked the room, we told the Choice Hotels representative that we wanted a hotel close to Hwy 20, but instead we got one that was off of Hwy 24; at least 15 minutes, each way, out of our way. And, they had us down for a single king bed when our reservations were for 2 doubles. Next, we had problems finding the place as it's immediately after the exit from the highway and set back off the road, so is easy to miss. And when we called to get directions, no one answered the phone. Then, when we entered the lobby to check in, we were greeted by an overpowering sweet floral scent which was also present in our room, so I'm guessing it's the cleaner they use. Then in the room, I noticed that there was some sticky goop on the desk that should have been cleaned before we came. Plus, the room needs a new paint job, as there were quite a few marks on the wall, and the tub was pretty marred. Also, there was what looked like a drop of blood stain on one of the bedspreads. And although the room could sleep 4, there were only 2 bath towels, 1 hand towel, and 1 washcloth in the room. They did give me more when I requested them, though. Finally, at breakfast, when I made a waffle, I noticed that the batter was very thin as if it had been watered down. On a positive note, both the receptionist and the lady at breakfast were very friendly and they have a really good selection of yogurt at breakfast.
