The bunk bed room is awful. Booked for two nights while walking the coast path but decided to go elsewhere after seeing how awful it is. The room stank of cheap air freshener and damp and the bathroom was terrible. Asked the owner for a partial refund as we didn’t use the room but she refused. Avoid!!!

Alex's bed and breakfast is an absolute gem! Our recent stay was perfect in every way. The rooms are great, the service is superb, and the location is ideal. Breakfast was delicious and a real highlight each morning. Alex's knowledge of Wells and the surrounding areas is incredibly helpful for tourists. We felt truly well-hosted, and our weekend was perfect thanks to Alex's hospitality. We're already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Wells! Wayne & Ryan

We chose to stay at The Quay as we were attending a wedding at nearby Holkham Hall. The wedding began at 1pm but noticed that the usual check in time for The Quay wasn’t until 3pm, so I messaged the owner (Alexandra) directly to ask if we could possibly check in from midday. She was reall6 kind and went out of her way to make sure the room was all ready for us - and actually by 11am! We only needed a room for the night really but it would have been great to spend longer here at this quaint B&B because it just had such a calm, relaxing and cosy vibe. Alexandra herself greeted us cheerily at breakfast the next day and we had a lovely continental breakfast with coffee before checking out at 10:30. I noticed the place is treated up for walkers and cyclists especially which is great. We had room 2 which was huge fun as it had super comfortable adult size bunk beds (we’re almost 60 but still fit!) and a very clean en-suite with shower, loo and sink. Nice white fluffy towels, toiletries that smell great and a good selection of teas and coffees to start the day. A marvellous home from home.

Very overpriced and terrible room. Went for a night away with my partner, it's not ideal when they put you in a tiny room with a bunk bed. The roof in the room was leaking water and there wasn't even a lamp in the room. The wet room was tiny so once you had a shower the water didnt even drain from the floor, had to wear trainers to brush teeth in the morning. For £180+ a night, it was terrible. Great location but that's all that place has going for it. The owner even had the cheek to stand moaning in the morning at how hard it is to run a B&B, it's pretty easy to put some ceral out in a morning and collect lots of money for terrible accomodation.

I thought it was a bit pricey for what it was, the room was small but had everything we needed and a lovely view across the marshes, there is no parking but a car park opposite which was full in the daytime as everyone was out for New Years Day, luckily we went out for dinner and there was a place to park right outside.

We stayed in Room 1 which was on the ground floor as we had a dog. Room was spacious and bed was really comfortable. Good choice of continental breakfast and Alex the owner is lovely and accommodating. Only down side was the parking, make sure you get in the long stay car park, unfortunately limited number of spaces but if you can £8.50 for 24hrs where as carpark opposite is a lot more expensive and only goes to 12 midnight.

Sent a message the day before with check in details so relatively easy although less personal. Our room needs a big update, read there was a gusto machine there isn't, there is a kettle and 1 coffee bag and a few bags of tea but that was all in our room so it seemed it wasn't replenished. The other room we got for the other half of the party had biscuits and hot chocolate so seems hit and miss. Needed heating as well. The worse part was the smell coming from the shower it was a metal smell and made us feel sick. The doors are very heavy and all you hear is banging so not very peaceful. The breakfast isn't worth it, literally a few cereals, pots of fruit and bread, not worth it when your paying 135 per night. There are many local bakery's they could get fresh produce from. The whole place definitely needs an update its very tired and for the price not worth it especially when parking is an extra charge. Unfortunately we will not return.

On arriving we thought the reception area could do with some TLC, The carpet was very old! The room itself was adequate. It was very noisy! The breakfast was average. Would we stay here again no! We chose it because of the advertised secure bike storage, Yet on arrival the bike was left in reception leant against a wall,

Tiny prison like room, although I expect a cell would be cleaner! Shower overflows as it’s full of various sorts of hair!! Shower door off runners and unable to close doors. Cups and toothbrush cups disgustingly filthy. I have photos to prove all this.
