"4-star hotel which greatly deserves its stars, our room was spacious, clean, neat and well appointed (we had a junior suite with a tower which adds charm to the whole). The staff at reception, the restaurant and the Spa are very pleasant, competent and very attentive. The restaurant is exceptional, the cuisine is succulent and the dishes are true works of art. The breakfast buffet is complete and diverse. We decided at the last minute and were able to benefit from a very attractive last minute rate. The hotel pays close attention to its impact on the environment, it accepts dogs and has private parking. We're going back, that's for sure!"

"We have recently returned from a most enjoyable week’s stay at the lovely four star Hotel Gerbi + Alexander in the popular resort of Weggis, some 45 mins by steamer from Lucerne. The hotel overlooks the lake, and is equi-distant from the Weggis steamer jetty, and the jetty at Campus Hotel Hertenstein. The hotel is everything one would want: charming, personable staff (particularly Dorin, Tim, and Petra (Pippa?), and Alisha in the Dining Room; Katherine, and Vitor. The owner, Mrs Gerbi, most kindly provided packed lunches each day. They were an unexpected, welcome, and not-charged-for treat, as was the little bottle of sunscreen when she noticed my burnt head! Mrs Gerbi and her delightful staff efficiently and courteously attended to their guests' needs. The hotel's rooms are spacious, well-equipped, spotlessly clean, and pleasantly decorated. A very beautiful well-ness / spa area, and indoor and outdoor swimming pools are available for guests' use. A very extensive breakfast buffet offered a wide selection of both hot and cold foods, and beverages. Dinner was something that we eagerly looked forward to each day. The evening meals were simply superb - flavourful, properly portioned, and served by the delightful staff. Whilst Weggis is a sleepy town on the shore of Lake Lucerne, it is nevertheless a good base for exploring the surrounding area. The many and frequent lake steamers ensure that Mts Pilatus, Rigi, and Lucerne itself are easily accessible as are the other villages that circle the lake. The surrounding scenery is of course as one would expect in Switzerland - stunning! You'll find your stock of superlatives will be quickly exhausted! It gives me great pleasure to highly recommend the Hotel Gerbi + Alexander - it can be booked with confidence - you will definitely not be disappointed!"

"So the hotel is superb inside, it's very beautiful, the food is great, the waiters are super friendly, but what they didn't warn us about was that there was huge construction work in front, there was a crane and a lot of noise, and it's also unacceptable that they did nothing to do about it."
