My cousin and I wanted to see a concert in Bodmin. We booked 2 single rooms at The Trehellas. It was perfect. the location is delightful. Our rooms were spotless and the staff extremely helpful. Sadly we did not have time to take dinner (the menu looked amazing ) However breakfast was superb. We travelled on the next day to see friends in Padstow. We wish we'd had the time for an extra night,but we will return.

Booked for evening meal, nice location and friendly family run character hotel. Staff were friendly, well balanced menu offering a good selection of choices. Meal was served in a timely manner, food quality was good, we enjoyed our meals. Would recommend to anyone in the Bodmin area.

Wadebridge was rather busy, so ventured slightly further afield for a decent bite to eat and managed to get a table at Trehellas House. Menu looked decent, prices were reasonable. Food very good, nicely presented and tasty. Not overly busy in there but would go back.

I was really hoping to be able to write something more positive as my partner chose this restaurant for lunch, but unfortunately the best way I could describe our roast dinner was unremarkable. The first mouthful was lukewarm, the meat was scant and thinly cut. The roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding unappealing, the vegetables almost indistinguishable except for the peas. Presentation non-existent, although the service was good. I know it could be hugely more enjoyable - try eating Sunday roast at the Swan in Bampton, Devon - a completely different experience including the settings. I would love Trehallas to do better, I left feeling disappointed. Update the décor, so it doesn't feel I've stepped back in time. Direct the chef to serve the food hot, present the veg in separate dishes, provide extra gravy. Easy things to remedy. Customers, especially those who have travelled and come across exceptional meals, expect more these days. Trehellas are still catering for those who are happy with 1980's pub grub.

Although the restaurant was fully booked, the staff made a table available for us. The restaurant was smart and nicely furnished. the quality of the food was excellent. The staff were very friendly too. We would certainly not hesitate to go back.

Bit cold...and that's just talking about the temperature! Owners were very cold too. Nothing more uncomfortable than staying somewhere where the owners clearly don't want to be there. Oh god, please don't stay here people. Save your money. Good location though, but you're not 'served' by location.

We booked at the last mo to save the drive back to Plymouth having arranged to meet friends for dinner at a local pub. We booked through ******* and viewed and chose our room and opted for bright looking room with a bath! The pictures of the 17th century hotel looked lovely and we were looking forward to the stay but sadly we were not allocate a room in the hotel but in a cottage across the car park in a small featureless room with the smallest shower I’ve ever seen. The bed was nice and bedding lovely and a nice breakfast in the morning but apart from taking our breakfast order no interaction at all amd reception was not manned. I do feel if you intend to put people in other buildings you should say and show pictures of those rooms so people can decided if it’s for them or not.

Been before but not for a while. Went for Sunday lunch on New Years Eve - fabulous Delicious 3 courses at a great price. Good choice of quality rather than quantity. Would highly recommend, we’ll be going back.
