Mountain Top Inn and Resort

Found 2 scorpions in room (Lodge #4) shortly after checking in for a 2-night stay. One was in bathtub (found while stepping into shower); other was freshly crushed in middle of floor. Checked out immediately (within a few hours of check-in). Was advised by front desk that they're to be expected, and no refunds. I drove to Warm Springs and stayed at the Aiden; much nicer, and no scorpions in the rooms.

Front door in lodge room was clear glass with only a thin drape. A/C flat out worked and we enjoyed the tub. Pine walls and ceiling were beautiful but vinyl fake-floor was just ok. Staff, especially Amina, was exceptionally friendly, outgoing and a plus for MTI&R. Venue is remote in the woods and very relaxing

Awesome location near Callaway Gardens, located just outside the Franklin D Roosevelt National Park. We stayed in the Inn as it was just the two of us. The staff was friendly and professional and the room was spotless. Limited wi-fi accessibility due to location so it was a bit of a chance to get reception on the TV. Would highly recommend! The cabins and lodge are on our list for future vacations with extended family. Definitely a place for a return visit.

Beautiful lodge! Would definitely return. I gave it four stars because we had a bathroom sink that wouldn’t drain…needs liquid plumber or something. I just brushed my teeth and washed my hands using tub faucet. Standing sink water…just a no for me. We went horseback riding the second day and came back to no water. The front desk said that there was nothing they could do and it would probably be off for a couple of hours. They did offer to go jump in the pool to clean off or use the outdoor shower, lol! What? Yikes we were meeting people for dinner. Thank goodness I had bottled water to clean up with. One towel and one washcloth per person was stingy. I need two towels for drying and one for my long hair. I managed, but a suggestion for management to just put a plus one set in for whatever amount of guests are in the room. Besides that, I absolutely loved staying there. Maybe request not to be in room 7 on the top floor. Beautiful views outside the door.

Quaint cabins with enough parking spots. Each cabin is basically the same 2 bedrooms up that share a bath (with a stall shower) (1 bedroom has a tub in the room) and 1 downstairs with a full bath with tub that shares with a hall entry. Living room / Kitchen combo in each with a door between cabins B and C that can be left open. Outside porch connects all 3 cabin door entrances and each cabin has a back porch with a swing, back porches are not connected. Lighting is very poor. Thankfully we brought an extra lamp to use in the one kitchen. TV's worked fine but basically no phone or internet service at the house. If you need an online recipe download it before coming or drive up to the pool where reception was better. Roaches were the biggest negative, not only in the kitchen but in the bedrooms and on the beds! Not the cleanest place, vents and baseboards are very dirty. Only a top sheet on the bottom of the bed that kept coming off on some of the beds and the mattress was noisy for some rooms. Pool is closed if it looks like rain or if it has just rained which was very annoying since the kids did not have internet and it was hot. No reason given since rain is really no reason to close a pool unless there is lightening, which we did have one day while in the pool but no one came then to tell everyone to get out of the pool. Some of the staff were super nice others not so much.

We love this place! This was our 4th stay with them. Very, very reasonable rates. The staff is off the chain awesome. The Inn is super clean as are the rooms. Close to Callaway without the out of sight prices! It's very quiet and the drive is beautiful too!

VERY comfortable beds, spacious rooms with everything needed for a comfortable stay. BEAUTIFUL views and great customer service. In a rural area, with wonderful local shops and restaurants nearby and lots of outdoor activities. Because it is a rural area, there is NOT great internet service, but that is to be expected as far as I am concerned... and quite frankly, kinda nice!

This place is somwhat spooky. No one around. The office is three or four miles away. Not a secure place and location. If you need help you're in trouble. The rooms were okay at best , not real clean. No one around if you need help and cell service is spotty. Not a good idea.

The room was fairly clean, the bathroom needed some repairs, the safety handle in the tub was gone and there was nothing in the tub to prevent slips, the shower curtain was stained around the bottom. The bottom of the tub was stained blue. The shower flow and angle could not be adjusted to keep water from spraying thru or over the shower curtain and getting on the floor. There were no hand towels provided only bath towels and wash cloths. The window and door curtains were very thin and we felt there should have been a room darkening curtain. The curtain over the door was attached to a rod over the door so it made it difficult to leave the curtain closed and open the door. It would have been better if the curtain was mounted to the door. It would have been nice if there had been a chair in the room in addition to the desk chair. Also there should have been a light on the night stand on the left side of the bed. The building itself is very rustic with uneven planked walkways and wooden gazebos. there were several places that the walkway decks were uneven - making for an tripping hazard. There was no ice available that we could find, just an empty freezer which appeared to be for ice.
