We stayed in a surfing twin room. There's no nightstand in the middle, so the beds can be pushed together, which is convenient for families like ours with kids. The twin beds are larger, and having two separate duvets is more practical in case the little ones kick theirs off.
The vanity is in the main room, in line with the TV, while the toilet and shower are on opposite sides of the room. Overall, it's fairly convenient. However, when you enter the shower area on the right, there's no space to change or grab a towel to dry off – you're immediately in the shower. Once you're done and open the shower door, you're directly back in the room, completely exposed. For families with very young children, this might not be an issue.
Since it's a new hotel, the facilities are quite modern. The balcony has two seats and a clothes drying rack. There's no washing machine in the room, but there's a self-service laundry room on the first floor with two washers and dryers (no need for detergent or disinfectant, as the machines automatically dispense them). You might have to wait during peak hours.
Overall, it's pretty good and suitable for surfing. Our butler, Linda, added us on WeChat in advance to introduce the services and facilities, which was very convenient and the service was good."

"Our stay this time was absolutely perfect! I had originally booked a standard room, but upon arrival, the hotel thoughtfully upgraded us to a Thai-style villa free of charge, which was such a wonderful surprise! The villa featured high, wooden ceilings that were incredibly stylish, and the living room was spacious and comfortable. The Thai-style soft furnishings were tastefully arranged, with blue and white throw pillows complementing the solid wood furniture perfectly. Being in the room felt like a Southeast Asian getaway, the atmosphere was just incredible.
Not only was the hardware superb, but the service was also impeccable. From check-in to everyday needs, the staff were incredibly attentive and thoughtful. Their response time was quick, and they even proactively asked about our needs and offered suggestions for activities. The care in every detail made us feel especially welcome. The bedding in the room was soft and skin-friendly, and the bathroom facilities and amenities were all high-quality; you could really feel the hotel's dedication in every detail. The surrounding environment was serene, surrounded by lush greenery, offering a truly immersive holiday experience. I will definitely choose this hotel again next time!"

The public areas are shared with the Sheraton, and the shuttle bus made getting around super convenient. The beach sand was incredibly fine and clean, which I loved! Our butler, Ella, was so thoughtful and attentive; her service was truly outstanding!"

2026 Asia 100 - Scenic Hotels"Our off-season trip to Wanning was such great value for money! I'm so glad we chose The Westin Wanning. Everything from booking to check-in was perfect (the hotel actually reads customer reservation notes!). Our dedicated butler, Mile, provided excellent service, even answering my questions late at night. The hotel is huge, and the view from our room's balcony was absolutely stunning. This is truly a hotel with heart 👍"

The hotel's overall facilities are decent, but the management clearly isn't up to par. The hot spring pools are also quite small, with only a few open. I booked a lake-view room, but they assigned me a room on the fifth floor where you can barely see the lake. The front desk even tried to trick me by saying that the fifth floor was the highest for this room type. The beef noodle soup from room service was truly awful, and expensive to boot. The hotel is quite large, but the lakeside is overgrown with weeds and poorly maintained. The room maintenance is also mediocre; the air purifier in the room was so noisy I couldn't sleep, so I had to turn it off."

"The hotel more looks like a bed and breakfast than a 4 star hotel. The room we booked was really small, around 12 square meters. With a balcony outside to sit. However, the view does not worth sitting and many other neighbors are just checking you.
The room itself was clean, but inside the community isn't very clean at all.
Probably, the highest disappointment comes from the public swimming pool which is a really tiny swimming pool. Their swimming pool is around 2.5 meters to 2.5 meters. So if you're coming to have a nice swimming experience, don't even think about it in this hotel.
We booked a room with breakfast included which was around 50 yuan more expensive than if we didn't want any breakfast. Let me be honest with you, their breakfast doesn't worth at all. There's no salad, no seasonal fruit, no bread, no coffee (broken coffee machine) and no desert. Forget all the things you can find in breakfast of normal 4 start hotel, It's just some dumplings, egg and simple corn which you can buy from any shop outside for less than 10 yuan all of them.
Overall, the price doesn't fit the service you receive, specifically about the swimming pool and breakfast."

No. 1 of 4-Star Select Hotels in Wanning"The hotel has been extensively renovated since my last stay. There is a cool new gym, a laundry room and the pool area is still top notch. Breakfast is generous and varied.
Th rooms are really relaxing, with high quality linens, towels, pillows and mattresses making it very comfortable . The combination rain shower/nozzle shower is excellent and the room comes with a huge tv also. I had a courtyard room which has 2 more seats outside but a balcony room might have been just as convenient.
Staff are really friendly and the room is cleaned to a high standard each day.
Location is excellent. The hotel is across the quiet roadway from the beach which is being upgraded with new sand being spread. The Shaka Surf shop is just outside the hotel for lessons and rentals, and there is a really nice restaurant (Goofy Dog) just beside that.
The noise at night might be an issue with small kids but if you want to be in the heart of the ‘scene’ there’s nowhere better to be.
I would very highly recommend this as a place to stay in Riyue Bay."

"Facilities: As it's a newly opened B&B hotel, the facilities are very comprehensive.
Cleanliness: Extremely clean. All the bedding is of excellent quality and feel, and all the disposable amenities are also quite good quality.
Ambiance: It has a very South of France-inspired B&B vibe. The colorful umbrellas, the swimming pool 🏊🏻♂️, and the wall colors all combine beautifully, giving it a strong summer feel.
Service: I'm not sure if it's because they just opened, but the butler service is fantastic. If they can maintain this level, it will be the best hotel near Wanning. They are on call 24 hours. My friends and I had tea and a fruit platter in the evenings, and everyone was incredibly warm and friendly, like old friends. The owner is also super attentive in greeting guests and handling any issues. There's also a highly recommended old coffee and tea restaurant nearby.
(Just a small note: Because it's newly opened, the rooms might have a slight smell from the wood装修. However, I expect it to disappear after about a month. If you stay soon, you can just use a fan to air it out.)"

2026 Asia 100 - Family Hotels"Checked into the beachfront villa at Le Méridien Shimei Bay Resort and had an amazing stay. The hotel environment was clean and comfortable, and the staff were very diligent with housekeeping. The breakfast offered a good variety of options, and the Horizon Sea View Restaurant had a fantastic view. All the staff I encountered were very friendly and nice. This time, I stayed in the same room type as [Nambo Wan/celebrity name, if applicable], and the ocean view was absolutely unbeatable. The hotel offers a wide range of activities, making it perfect for family trips. The only minor downsides were the limited options for nearby takeout and that most places close quite early. Our butler, Lexie, was patient and provided excellent service, solving issues quickly and efficiently. Thumbs up!"

The view of the sea was unobstructed and fantastic, although it was unfortunately cloudy during our entire stay, haha. The room itself felt a bit dated, and the cleanliness was just so-so; there were still marks on the bathroom window. The lobby view was nice, and the pool was huge and picturesque, but honestly, it wasn't very clean – you couldn't see clearly underwater. The public areas were quite small, and there weren't many coconut trees. We booked this place specifically for the pool. As for breakfast, it was just okay. The sea looks much better when the sun is out."
