Quality Hotel Wangaratta Gateway

Great overnight stay. We called 1hr ahead and required a room for 2A & 2 teenagers. Reception was great, arranging a room made up of 2 singles & king bed. They even had the heater on for us which was appreciated as it was 5 deg outside! Room was new. New bathroom. New beds, new new new. Tv had complimentary pay tv - which was great!! And USB charging points too!! So good! Thank you.

I haven’t written a review for a regional hotel in a while even though i often travel extensively across Australia. You realise if you travel enough that regional hotels seem to be bland and generic, often offering three star service for a four star rating. This is particularly noticeable in the way services are delivered where often the bare minimum is common place. Which is why it is so refreshing to find a hotel like Quality hotel in Wangaratta of all places. From the website and when you first arrive the hotel is unassuming and one could easily be forgiven for driving past without a second thought. Yet as I entered I knew this hotel was special. I was greeted by zac at reception. After some initial confusion with booking the staff fixed up the situation seamlessly. The rooms are spacious and set up in a comfortable way. 4 pillows come standard and there two additional pillows in the wardrobe of different hardness. The air conditioning was clean which is rare for regional hotels and maintained well. The room was quick to heat up to the set temperature. The fridge was spacious with plenty of room for additional food storage if needed. The bathroom was designed well with good drainage and a bath mat was rarely required. All the amenities are here and replaced daily. Overall it’s the small details that sets this hotel apart. They cleaned my car windscreen overnight and were constantly attentive to my needs in the week I stayed here. Where it excels however was in the food it provides. Easily the best steak I’ve ever had in a regional hotel, the delivery was quick without sacrificing on quality. Other meals I had was also of exceptional quality. Lastly the wi-fi was elite providing consistent speeds of above 100Mbit up and down irrespective of the time of day. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. I can’t understand how this can be the second best hotel in town when it’s probably the best regional hotel I have stayed at in the country.

We really enjoyed our stay in Wangaratta, rooms very tidy and neat. Would defiantly stay here again. Parking was easy and security at motel was great, lift up to rooms was easy to move luggage. It was pleasant sitting outside in the bar area, service was good and friendly.

A nice hotel/motel. Nice rooms - very clean and with good decor (unusual to find rooms of such high quality in country town motels). Free underground parking. Restaurant was not bad, but not as good as I had hoped. They had a power outage on the morning of our departure, so breakfast offerings were limited (no coffee!) If I were to return to Wangaratta, I would stay here again.

This is a large, modern hotel with very nice, clean rooms, a good restaurant, ample parking and friendly staff. We had an excellent dinner and breakfasts which are available early. Lots of conference guests.

Booked dinner for 2 to celebrate a birthday. Table ready on time as our booking was early so we could go to a show. The food was perfect. The cost of the meal was very reasonable. There was a large range on the menu to choose from. Our wine by the glass was reasonable. Would definitely go again

A one night stopover on the way to Melbourne. Plenty of parking underneath and behind the hotel (if you are over 1.2 m). We ate in the restaurant and our meals were excellent with a local bottle of red from Beechworth. We also had breakfast in the dining room which again was excellent. We were served by a lovely lady for both meals. Room was quiet, clean and comfortable. Noticed the pool and sauna which also looked great.

Comfortable and the room very clean. The bathroom modern with great shower head. Nice little balcony and pleasant view. About a 10 minute walk into local restaurants, pubs and shops. This is a quiet and inviting motel, seemed very busy with various functions when we arrived but room was quiet. Pool and spa area looked nice and inviting. Lift at each end of the motel going down to the basement parking which was extra convenient. Friendly and helpful management, quick check-in and with extra service, someone cleaned out windscreen each day. 2 minute walk to Watermarc Restaurant, great service and food. Paulie's Corner for the best breakfast. Thanks for a great stay.
