Candeo is right on Wakayama-Shi Train station, which makes it incredibly convenient. Sound-proofing ensures perfect sleep and no disturbance from trains or traffic etc. The staff accepted early check-in at 2pm and were incredibly courteous, professional, English-speaking and kind. Really excellent.
Some large Japanese hotel chains are not entirely geared to the ”international market” and the attitude to non-Japanese guests can be less than ideal.
NOT CANDEO. The staff are comfortable with an international clientele, cheerful and welcoming. How wonderful!
The entire hotel is extremely clean and well-run. Everything says ”professional”. The flower arrangements on each floor are REAL. Flowers are extremely expensive in Japan.
The view from the reception area (Floor 11) is fantastic. The spa (Floor 12) is open air, with a great view and a magical feel.
I enjoyed my stay very much and I hope to return to Candeo soon.
A 2-minute walk from Wakayamashi Station on the Nankai Line. Recommended for business trips and sightseeing!

The location is very good
It's just a few minutes away from Wakayama Station.
The environment is pretty good, just on the roadside, a little noisy
Hygiene: passable, clean and tidy
Service: Not bad, breakfast is also very good

Nothing impressive, small and dark. Okay for a single guy , not sure about ladies. Close to Wakayama-Shi station, so getting around is easy.
Rooms have no view, just looking at pipes dripping water. Room smells of smoke. Toilets are hard to get into as they are ‘caravan size’ toilets and showers. The bath tub is very high, not ideal for elderly folks as the showers are installed within. They do have a ioniser and demister in the room to get rid of bad air and foul smoke smell but not very effective. If you plan to spend most of the day out, it’s ideal.

Very cost-effective hotel. The room is very clean and tidy, and the hotel's service is also very good. If you arrive early, your luggage can be kept for you. The breakfast variety is rich and delicious for the price. It is very convenient to go to the city center with JR. I will stay here again when I go to Tokushima in the future.

It is a 10-minute walk from Wakayama Station and a 15-minute walk north to Don Quijote Wakayama. There is a small square 100 meters south where many children play. The hotel is very clean. The uncle at the front desk is very friendly and explains things carefully with a translator. Luggage can be stored in advance. The room has a bathtub and a special glass door. Breakfast is delivered to the room at the scheduled time. Very good accommodation experience.

The hotel is about 5-6 minutes walk from the JR station. The hotel is not new, but it is clean and tidy. The room is large and can open 2 21-inch suitcases. The bedding is comfortable. The special thing is that there is a hot spring, which is very refreshing. The breakfast is rich in variety and delicious. It is recommended to stay

The hotel room rates in Japan are very high on weekends, so I had to find this hotel with a relatively low price increase. It's hard to describe. The location is good, although the surroundings are desolate. It's convenient to walk a few minutes from the JR station. The building is shabby, the room facilities are shabby, and everything is terrible. The room smells heavily of smoke, but the hygiene is acceptable. The sound insulation is also very poor. But it's cheap, so I'll put up with it!

Outstanding
GGuest UserWonderful location. Very clean. Good service. Friendly and helpful staff.
We experienced a mild earthquake in early morning. There was announcement after the alarm to the hotel room after the shake. However, it was only in Japanese. It would be better if the announcement could be in English as well. Anyway, the reception took our call and explained the situation quickly.
SSI YUE BONNYWe absolutely cannot contain our elation when recalling our recent stay at this remarkable hotel. From the moment we stepped into the elevator adorned with personalized name cards, my husband and I were enveloped in the warm embrace of hospitality. The attention to detail and the genuine kindness of the staff made us feel like VIP guests. They also thoughtfully provided a bucket for us to indulge in the glowing enchantment of firecrackers and even tidied the mess up afterwards.
But the best memory of our stay here was definitely the culinary experience given by the chef extraordinaire — Master Chef Matsuki. His creations were nothing short of a gastronomic revelation. Each dish was a testament to his unwavering dedication and profound respect for the ingredients. Oh, the flavors — titillating all our taste buds in every bite. And the generosity of Chef Matsuki in sharing his culinary wisdom, guiding us on how to savor each morsel, elevated the entire dining experience to sheer perfection.
The language barrier was no obstacle to the remarkable team of staff members who graced us with their presence. Their command of the English language was commendable, and even those who were not entirely fluent went above and beyond to cater to our every whim and need. Their genuine desire to assist us was palpable, leaving us feeling truly valued and cared for.
I am already making plans to return with my beloved family, as I know they too deserve to bask in the unparalleled warmth and luxury that this establishment exudes. This hotel has set the bar impossibly high, redefining the meaning of hospitality and creating memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.
So if you seek a hotel experience that transcends mere accommodation and transforms into a symphony of opulence, impeccable service, and culinary artistry, then look no further. This is the epitome of hospitality, a sanctuary where dreams come true, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who craves an unforgettable journey of indulgence and delight.
HHeLocation is very good and near JR station.
Complimentary breakfast is a plus. However, there is no Onsen or public bath. Bathroom is rather small.
Overall it’s good value for the money paid :)
YYip Chung YuValue for money. For the price paid. Can't complain much as got free driving from Kada station to the hotel.
Cons is need to get the pic from train station to call as the number on the Google map and the banner can't go through.
Recommended to use the hotel transport as walking is too far.
Pros everything. There is a laundry coin as well which save our life alot as we travel 3 weeks to Japan. Do note the awajima shrine is just beside this hotel. Must visit and do see the sunset and sunrise.
Cons far from station
GGuest UserAs soon as I entered the corridor and buried the room, I already felt good. There is a small entrance before entering the room, and I feel that the design is very meticulous.
Sitting on the terrace listening to the sound of the rain feels good healing, and after the heavy rain, the sound of the waves is even more intoxicated. There are some thoughts, open a terrace glass door, and listen to the sound of the waves. If it is not a big rain, the weather is a little cold, it is really a stage bath.
Breakfast with sea view and dinner, preparation, all Greek dishes, very careful, super satisfied.
RRomanIt is a good spot for a solo traveler. Capsules are clean. Towels are provided. There is a small tea and coffee area at the entrance. They also have Chinese-standard plug in the capsule which was handy. Also, I likes the smell of wood.
The worst part is that if you come before check-in, nobody is in there, meaning you will have to stroll around and wait for 16:00.
CCKChan77An European styled resort hotel right next to the marina, Porto Europe and the seafood market, the proximity to these facilities makes up for its rather out-of-the-way location. The marina gives the hotel a nice and posh surrounding and scenery. The staff are very helpful and efficient.
GGuest UserThe scenery directly facing the hotel is quite a sight, and it can be considered an excellent view.
The room is a standard Japanese-style tatami. It is not big, but it is enough to spread out luggage and sleep on the tatami.
The rooms all face the fishing port directly. When the weather is good, you can see the sunset, which is very beautiful with the sound of the fishing port bells.
Dinner and breakfast are all Japanese-style, and they are all great👍
Transportation is inconvenient, only bus No. 30 can get there, and it only leaves once an hour. Taking a taxi from Wakayama JR Station costs about 3,800 yen.
There are no restaurants or shops around.
The hot spring also faces the fishing port. In the evening and morning, the male and female hot springs will swap. You need to make a reservation in advance for the private soup, and there is a high probability that the venue will be fully booked.
The Panasonic massage chair in the Free lounge is great. It is a model that is not available in China. It is very relaxing to have a massage after soaking in the hot spring.
SSunrisedehongWhen a typhoon hits Wakayama, there are no people on the street. There is a 711 behind the hotel, which is very convenient. The room is larger than expected, with a separate toilet and washroom. There is a small window, you can see the outdoor scenery, it can be opened for ventilation, and there is no wind or rain, which is perfect for typhoon days. We brought our baby to stay and ordered two breakfasts. The grandpa at the front desk directly gave us six breakfast coupons for two days. We were so touched, especially when we rushed here in the wind and rain. The breakfast is very rich, and I like the cold tofu and curry rice the most. There is also a self-service drink machine, and the Calpis soda is great! Will stay here again if I have the chance!
GGuest User#Praise#For mosquito control measures, hotel smell, bedding comfort, location, toiletries, room lighting satisfaction; I like this hotel so much! It is also an ideal hotel! The so-called ideal is that every aspect is very practical! Although there is no breakfast, there is a refrigerator microwave in the room. It is very convenient to buy and eat at the nearby convenience store supermarket. The room is large and the bathroom is large, and the toiletries are complete to even the curling stick! The kettle said that the insulation can be kept warm for one night, not to mention that it is so cheap not far from the station! I will only live here on the West Line in the future. ps: This ideal hotel comes from a 40-generation hotel that has lived in various large and small Japanese hotels in a variety of sizes and sizes. Lightning avoidance and mentioning that this store has no elevator, large boxes of passengers should be cautious.
