Spectacular place! Stunning beach and ocean. If you aren’t into camping and rugged areas maybe not your jam. But if you are ok with sand, small bathroom and shower, and sand it’s heaven. Water was rough with waves and rocks. A few areas with sandy beach. At the end of the road there is a state park. You need a pass to open the gate. Wish we got a pass before hand. Highly recommend for camping types.

Ok, I came back on my next school trip and, well, the staff took my report in consideration and they did a great job! The pool was almost clean, (A little bit of algae). The cabins were much better but still a bit dirty, but it's a Hawaiian camp so don't expect anything to be clean. :) I must say the food has also improved and even though the food is a bit dry, I enjoyed it. Though the things like the bell and paint, Etc. can use a touch up. But the staff has done a great job!

I went on a school trip with @670lancet and it was horrible. It was the worst camp experience you can have. The pool was green with algae, and you couldn't see the bottom. The cabins were terrible, and the bathrooms were disgusting. There were big cockroaches and the alpine tower looked like it would fall any second.

Wir haben 2 Nächte in einer Yurte verbracht - der Preis lohnt sich: Natur pur, alles sehr sauber und gepflegt. Am Strand konnten wir 2 Robben beobachten. Nachts schläft man mit dem Rauschen des Meeres ein. Das Paradies ist dort! Jederzeit wieder.

Amazing location and wonderful staff! The cabins are very basic, but allow access to so much. We feel lucky we got to stay in such a beautiful spot.

It was great being right on the water. Check in and out was great. Our tent was very clean. The water in this area of this island is very rough. Unable to ocean swim. The outdoor shower water is freezing. We went at colder time of year. The TP got soaking wet when rained. Outside bathroom has no roof. The grounds was not kept up. There were homeless people sleeping in mangroves around the area. I didn't fell unsafe but just a little uneasy. I think any camping area around the island has a homeless population.

If you are looking for glitz and glam of Hawaii, this is NOT the place for you.
If you are looking for the best scenery in Hawaii, the softest sand, perfect sunsets, no crowds and can stand a little bit of rustic, then this IS your place.
It is not nice or new but we stayed 2 nights in one of the beachside cabins. Staff was very friendly and accommodating only if needed otherwise left us alone. The beach is great and you can hear the waves through the night.
Again, if you are looking for a hotel or resort, this is not the place. It is glamping only because you have running water/ toilet/shower in your cabin.
If thats your style (like ours) then this is a must!
