Overall good stay

The only place I ever stay when going here, always an excellent stay. My 6th year staying here.

Hotel room was nice and very clean. It would have been nice if there was an actual restaurant to eat in. The poolside restaurant was nice for lunch.

Great value right on the Virginia Beach Boardwalk. Recently renovated. Nice new bar. Indoor and outdoor pool. Close to many good restaurants. They also have a new restaurant in the hotel. (I didn't try it) Have stayed here for years and plan to keep coming back.

Location is good, hotel is easy to get to and park. Room wasnt ready until 1.5 hour after check in. 3 Elevators but only 2 worked, sometimes only 1, resulted in longer waits than should be expected. I stayed 5 nights, asked for housekeeping day 2, they never showed up. Exhaust fan blows directly at you on the balcony so its always blowing hot/loud air on you if on balcony. A/C unit was very loud where beds where, hard to sleep b/c of it.

The only reason this review is 3 stars and not less is because the staff was extremely kind. The front desk staff, all bar tenders and servers were very pleasant, positive and welcoming. The cleanliness of this place was a 2 at best! The air vents were caked with dust, the ceiling along the air vent was gray, there was mold in the bathroom, the balcony had a huge dirty vent that was loud and blew hot dirty bathroom smelling air all day and you could not sit out there. The sliding door did not close all the way and let this nasty air and noise in all day. There was a greasy handprint on the bathroom door upon our arrival and a previous guest’s hair clip on the floor. Housekeeping came once in our 5 days and took our dirty towels without replenishing them, emptied our garbage once, did not make beds or straighten up at all. Skip this hotel of u want something clean!

Newly renovated!!! Hotel needs to post new pics to show the Suites and lobby. Room has Nice sleeper sofa, good size working desk and nice microwave and refrigerator area with sink and shelves. Wi-Fi worked well. Good complimentary breakfast: eggs, sausage, waffles, cereal, small yogurt, banana, oranges, oatmeal & juice. Everyone was friendly. You have to walk a little ways for the outside pool & hot tub, pool nice but needs cleaning, inside pool small but nice. Only 1 on-site parking pass per room. Good location good restaurants close by. Will stay again!

Stayed for 2 nights with my family for our anniversary. The first two nights we got in late & crashed, but on the last night we noticed before getting into bed that there was dried blood stains on the corner of the sheets. We were too tired to mention it that night because it was late so we just stripped that sheet off. We mentioned it & showed pictures when checking out the next morning. The front desk agent barely looked at the pictures, was stereotyping us, and said with an attitude “what did we want”. She didn’t even grab the manager, just told us we would get points on our account. I believe if we were a different ethnicity the situation would have been handled differently which is unfortunate. Her attitude was unprofessional especially when my husband was talking to her the entire time in a professional manner. They also close the pool 15-30mins before the close time & refused to open it for my little girl. We’ve never experienced service like this before and don’t see ourselves returning.

Just back from a week at Spinghill Suites, Virginia Beach, VA. I had not been there for some time and was slightly hesitant to book it, based on some negative reviews. Glad I did book it. The entire stay was great. Que at the front desk made check-in a breeze. We were ready to go within five minutes of walking in. She is friendly, professional and helpful....explained all the things we needed to know- pool and breakfast hours, parking deck etc. I agree with some of the not so great reviews about the decor being past its prime. I believe a renovation is beginning next month. I can't wait to go next summer and see the newly renovated hotel. Everyone we came into contact with was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good. The entire stay was great and can't wait to go next summer
