Hotel Und Restaurant Zum Hirschen

I booked this hotel in April 2024 through Booking. My account was mistakenly charged for two nights (two rooms for one night). To this day, the hotel refuses to refund the overpaid amount. Hence my conclusion: Never again. Not recommended under any circumstances!

We were in beautiful Switzerland for a long weekend and chose this 3 star hotel. Unfortunately, in our opinion, it is more of a B&B. The hotel has rooms in the main building as well as some apartments in a neighboring building. Our budget room had everything we needed and was also reasonably clean. Even if the cleaning the following day wasn't as thorough as we would have liked. Fingerprints etc. were still visible on the fittings. The oddly placed bed was super illogical and not suitable for everyone (Siege photo). We slept relatively well, the street noise didn't bother us much. Apparently the staff saved because the reception was practically never occupied. The keys and the details of the room, name, etc. are openly displayed at the reception and you have to find your way around yourself. At breakfast the staff was nice and courteous. The breakfast was ok, although the bread and butter plait were unfortunately dry and the next day it was still the same plait. Overall, it was good value for money, and it is a good starting point for excursions in the region. But you should expect something B&B rather than a true 3 star hotel.
