Absolutely incredible hotel! I stayed there for a week in July with my family on a half-board with dinner arrangement. The food is incredible in the buffet with an enormous variety. All the amenities of the hotel are great, the beach is perfect and the overall ambiance is outstanding. A lot of people staying in the hotel were Italian, but all the staff made an effort to understand us (we're Portuguese, and we also speak English) and they were all so nice and ready to help. The rooms are a bit outdated but they're incredibly clean every day. The only bad thing is that the hotel is so big that you have to walk a lot from one place to the other, but if you wait a bit you can catch the train that the hotel offers as a shuttle service so people can get around more easily. I didn't travel with kids but I noticed the hotel is incredible for them. They have a kids' club and a bunch of different entertainment options, as well as lots of other families with children to interact with. Definitely a great hotel, by a great beach, with the standout points being the quality and variety of the food in the buffet and the kindness and hospitality of all the workers.

I stayed with my family (4 people) in an apartment on the second floor. With an ok view. The one thing I really do like about this hotel is the direct access to the beach with reserved sun beds for you. Another positive is the live entertainment every night with a singer who played the flute as well. Let’s go onto the negatives and there is allot. The apartment its self was the worst place I have ever stayed. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and hard. The pillow was really thin I had to ask for another one surprisingly they did not charge me for that. However if you would like your room cleaned there was a fee of €36. Most 4 star hotels I stay at your room gets cleaned every day for free. The air conditioning I put it at its lowest setting and it still was very loud I could not sleep. On to the bathroom. The shower was very good and it was also a decent size. However there was a hot water meter and you only had a little bit of hot water every day. Only 2 out of the 4 of my family could get a hot shower every day. It felt like I was in prison. This was one of main things that made me really dislike this place. Your towels for the room get changed every couple of days. But they take your dirty towels away in the morning and you get clean ones back in the evening. So it’s no shower during the day on towel change day. Some more things about towels. You get provided one beach towel per person for your entire stay and if you want to change it is €2 per towel. When I usually stay at a hotel that provides beach towel I get fresh one every day FOR FREE. Not a silly €2 charge. It’s a joke. Just like Ryanair charge extra for everything. Finally when I checked out I got charged €216 for Electricity and water even though half of my family got a cold shower. We stayed for a week and in the UK €216 could get you a month electricity and water not a week. The entertainment staff were lovely and they made shore we all had something to do. All the other staff were lovely and hard working however the security guard was very grumpy and rude to us. To conclude the hotel charges you extra for allot of things and it’s not the place for me. I would not recommend.
Hotel Simius Playa

We stayed 5 nights in Hotel Simius Playa. The restaurant serves a fantastic breakfast, lunch and dinner - amazing pizza, superb pane carasau, and soups to die for. The restaurant and reception staff are super friendly and we're always willing to put in extra effort to make sure we were comfortable. Giovanni and the team are doing a superb job there. The rooms are clean and kept clean all the time. Also the private section of the beach has the cleanest and clearest water I have ever seen. We spent most of our time there. The life guard was also super helpful and friendly, always willing to help us with questions and show us around the beach. Unfortunately since we are usually on a strict vegan diet we struggled to find much healthy protien to eat, not just in the hotel but in the general area of the village - we ended up just eating cheese. The hotel restaurant once (one evening) served a fantastic chickpea soup though. More of such options would be greatly appreciated for guests like us! Also the breakfast buffet in particular is worth mentioning. An amazing selection of fruits, cereal and drinks, among others. The team was also so kind as to find us soy yoghurt when we asked for it since we don't drink milk. The buffet area would be even better if not for covid since the regulations in Italy demand that you get served instead of picking the food yourself. Maybe it would be better if the restaurant took orders while people are seated. All in all, great experience. I highly recommend!
