The Penrose Bed & Breakfast

Penrose B&B is the only B&B built on the side of Sedona's famous red rocks, The Penrose provides the best views from every room of some of the formations that make Sedona a top-rated tourist attraction. We stayed in the Kokopelli, as a guest of a friend, and boy we we lucky. It is the nicest, I think of all the rooms and it is at least 400$ plus per night, depending on when you go. The Kokopelli has a nice little sitting room along with the bedroom and includes a flat panel TV, a two-person Jacuzzi, which is just amazing and with separate shower. There is no closet so you are left with a European style clothes rack, which is just fine, unless you are staying more than a week. The balcony is the length of the entire room. There is beautiful Mexican furniture, tin mirrors, and pottery in the sitting room and in the bedroom. Out favorite spot was the balcony. The Penrose has American food. All dishes are great and made from scratch They even have candy for you in your room. The Penrose has 24/7 access to a free snack bar with pop corn, granola bars, nuts, and a variety of beverages. The staff which is wonderful can refer you to places for dinner or a fine lunch. The place is perfect. This will be a great once in a lifetime B&B for you. The staff is just so kind, the food is great, the place is spotless and there is so much to do nearby. You will love this place.

We certainly were lucky to have reserved a room at the Penrose BNB. We found Sedona to be incredibly crowded and touristic. But Oak Creek, just 3 miles away from downtown Sedona, is very different. It’s breathtakingly beautiful but without all the touristic chaos. The Penrose was perhaps the nicest BnB that we have ever visited. Our room was cozy and charming. The bed was super comfy, the bathroom had everything we needed. And the view from our balcony was beyond amazing, just gorgeous. The breakfast was delicious. It certainly had a southwest-y influence, new things to taste and enjoy. All the staff were as helpful as could be. Many thanks to Melissa who did a load of laundry for us—- no charge! If you’re looking for an elegant and restful place to stay in the Sedona area, this is it. It’s the real deal!

This was a fabulous place from which to see Sedona! Outside the hustle and traffic of town, close to trails, fabulous location and views, and truly gourmet breakfasts on a wonderful terrace. Great and helpful supply of snacks and beverages for hiking, coffee and tea 24/7 as well. Avoid the crowds and stay at this lovely oasis among the red rocks!

The Penrose is in a great location - with views of the mountains from most of the rooms - but that can be said of most places in Sedona. The rooms themselves are small and lack refrigerators. Breakfasts are good (evening treats are minimal) but overall, the Penrose is very expensive for a good breakfast and tiny rooms.

It's all true. The setting is just the best - people go to Sedona to see the rocks, and there they are, just beyond your private balcony. Room was clean, efficient, stocked with everything. There's an evening snack available, and a full breakfast if you want it. Our balcony was small. Other rooms have larger balconies. The room overlooking the parking lot has the best views (even though the parking lot is part of it.) But really, take any room and just enjoy the place. Hard to imagine a better place to stay in Sedona.

Wow!!! Stunning setting with amazing views of the various red rock formations right from our bed! Warm and friendly welcome by one of the owners. Rooms are very comfortable with all the necessary amenities. Lovely breakfast both mornings served by friendly (but not intrusive) Ellen and Wendy who gave recommendations on what to visit etc. Plan well in advance to get a room here! Definitely worth the extra effort.

We stayed here one night in the Coconino room. The staff was very friendly. Views from the room's patio were amazing and the breakfast on the patio was delicious making this stay well worth the price. Only con is the pillows.

We were passing through and stayed on night here. If we ever go back to Sedona we will definitely consider staying here again. Our room was spacious and with a wonderful (although small) balcony and view (we were on the second floor, east side). The night was quiet and the morning breakfast was so good. We enjoyed sitting out on the terrace (we were there in September; summer is likely too hot for outdoor seating). My only critique is that we got there after dark (due to our day's traveling schedule) and were a little uncertain where to enter. We also had to call the place to get in as knocking didn't seem to work.
