I stayed one night with my family, took a suite, very large, modern, well lit, comfortable and elegant, all very well looked after. Personal, kind and helpful. The hotel is in the center of the city. An excellent breakfast. Value for money, good.

Palais26 Das Hotel liegt mitten im Zentrum. Tipp zum parken: Contipark Parkhaus Zentrum in Villach: Tagespauschale von 7,50€, günstiger als im Hotel (13€). Üppiges Frühstück (grandioses Rührei), sehr nettes und hilfsbereites Personal, gute Anbindung zum Bahnhof Villach. Das Zimmer war klein, geräumig mit getrennten WC und Dusche. Betten mega bequem.

Parkplatz reserviert aber nicht bekommen, mussten das Gepäck einen halben Kilometer quer durch Villach schleppen. Das Hotel sonst ist sehr schön, wir übernachteten dort seit 20 Jahren. Doch vor allem die Personaleinsparungen an der Rezeption verschlechtern den Service leider maßgeblich.

The hotel is in a great location on the centre of the town‘s main square type area with access to shops, cafes and restaurants. The room was comfortable in an older style building which makes for a nice stay. Check in was easy and the staff were friendly

We were pleasantly surprised by this lovely hotel. Our room was huge (we’re traveling as a family) and the attention to decor is outstanding here; it’s one of the loveliest designed hotels I’ve seen. Sumptuous velvet in colours that really match. The staff are pretty chilled too, we needed to leave our cases as our bus wasn’t until much later and they happily accommodated. We didn’t get to have a drink/some food here, but that’s just a good excuse to come back.

Das Hotel hat eine sehr gute Lage und man ist sehr hilfsbereit. Die Abstellmöglichkeiten von Fahrräder ist gut. Die Zimmer sind sehr gut und der Schlafkomfort ist gegeben. Für ein paar Tage ist das Hotel sehr gut geeignet Lediglich muss das Hotel sicherstellen das zu den angegeben Frühstückszeiten noch alles da ist, dies war bei uns leider nicht der Fall.

My wife described this as her worst hotel experience in the developed world. We arrived in the evening after a very hot day of travelling by train from Croatia to be told that we didn’t have a reservation (even though we had email confirmation). After 30 minutes of wrangling at reception with our 10 year old in tears they eventually gave us a room. We were all hot and filthy and just needed a shower. There was no hot water in the room. The response from reception (exact quote) ‘it’s not my problem, I don’t care’. What sort of hotel is this???

One of the best hotels of my life! What a great service! What a breakfast! The room was so big! and from the window I could see the Christmas market! Very closed to the river for a nice walk! and also within walking distance from the train station!

Nice hotel in a strategic position but a little dated, helpful staff and very good and efficient cleaning ladies, but the hotel manager was not attentive and not very helpful (she seemed almost annoyed even though we paid almost 800 euros for 2 rooms for 2 nights) , at the reception no one speaks Italian which is truly inconceivable given that they are on the border with Italy, due to a misunderstanding about the rooms we stayed for over half an hour and we had to make do to find someone to translate the problem, we will certainly not return again.
