Hotel Vernon

This place is not the best it looks nice but their are roaches and the staff is terrible

The rooms look nothing loke the pictures. the bed was so uncomfortable, the sheets had spots on them that looked like from dead bugs, hair on the sheets and in the towels. The room smelled of urine like all the rooms was moped with the same water. We had a problem of some one banging another door at midnight and yelling. The gentleman at the desk was polite when we did our check in and that's the reason for the 2 stars.

A well run Hotel, the room was staged nicely with a good bed, a desk, and an easy chair with a ottoman. I didn't hear a lot of highway noise, and I like parking in front of my room. The continental breakfast was good, with proper coffee. They have a huge cable TV lineup, with a guide channel. My only complain is the towel was a little skimpy.

This hotel is very clean and safe. The staff is a group of highly skilled professionals and very friendly. I recommend this hotel above all others in the area. You won’t be disappointed. The front desk personnel were great. Rooms are nice, very clean and all amenities worked well. Very nice place to stay. Great place located in a small Texas town in the country.

If I could give no stars I would! This place was filthy! Stains on the bed sheets, stains on the chair. The toilet was beyond gross! There was mold and mildew on the floor in the bathroom. There was fly poop all over the lamp shade, the smoke detector, and the ceiling. I told the manager in the morning and he was rude just shrugged his shoulders and acted like he didn't care.

I was really tired and my resistance down so I stayed here. Pretty much an average dump. Bed was ok. Only a couple cricket legs in the bath. It had hot water once I figured out how to turn on the backwards configuration. I was solo but wouldn’t take my wife here. It wasn’t a feel-good stay but adequate in today’s Bidenary economy.

Got in late first night and slept fine. Room was OK for the price. Not impressed but price was cheap. Next day we got back to the hotel and there was a heavy smell of ********* outside (non smoking room). Told hotel manager and at first he said it’s happened before and he can’t do anything about it. In our room the smell was really strong. Called manager, he came down and said he didn’t smell anything. Me and my son are 100% sure and it was a strong smell, not faint. There is no way he didn’t smell it. Manager said he couldn’t do anything. I Asked to be moved and he said the move wouldn’t help. Asked for a refund and since it was after check out time he wouldn’t. We left without refund. I just wish he would have tried to fix the situation. Had no solution other than he didn’t smell it so it didn’t exist. But he admitted before that workers that stay there smoke ********* there.

This family run, mid-century MOTEL was fully updated, comfortable and just as the photos described. My room had a microwave, mini-fridge, and all of the other amenities in a modern hotel. I loved driving up to my room and parking in front of my door, just like when I traveled as a child with my parents. The clientele was not scary, just a bunch of road weary travelers in West Texas. The breakfast was typical American Continental breakfast, but served with a smile. You definitely see "Pride in Ownership" at the Vernon. The Vernon is dog-friendly, but does not have a "Dog Park." The commons areas were nice. I can not give this 5 Stars, because, well... I have stayed at 5 Star HOTELS. But, as far as MOTELS go, Hotel Vernon is a solid 4 Star.

Very nice for an older property that has been renovated. Not fancy, not like large chains with large budgets but it was clean and comfortable. Breakfast wasn’t as well elaborate as the large chains but included some great tasting biscuits, gravy, cereals, packaged Danish, etc. My husband and I both commented that it was the best night’s sleep we experienced on our trip from Florida. For comparison, last night we stayed at a large chain hotel that has been open for 10 months near Denver that has reviews rating it at over 9 stars. It was new and pricey but the toilet was partially clogged so did not flush well, we had to ask for soap/shampoo as there was none in the room, only one ice maker was working out of 4 in the hotel, the a/c had a weird clattering sound that made hearing the TV almost impossible and, lastly there was no coffee creamer of any type available at breakfast (yes, I asked). We’d stay at the Hotel Vernon again!
