"Off the beaten track, on top of a hill looking over the south of France. On a good day you can even see Corsica. A lovely area with a nearby small town. I felt this was secluded and exclusive. I’ve never quite felt peace like it. It’s so quiet and relaxing. If I were to ever go away by myself or just with my partner for a quiet week, this would be it. As someone who works in luxury travel, the little gifts I had for my child goes such a long way. Even though they cost a small amount, it is these touches which keep high net worth individuals coming back and will keep people like me sending clients to the hotel. Top quality breakfast. "This was the best experience ever! The place is exquisitely decorated, combining Old World elegance with sophisticated modern art. Everyone on the staff was helpful, especially Thierry, who gave us great ideas for our daily adventures and for the rest of the journey. Oh, I must especially thank the manager who went out of his way to sort through the daily garbage and find the voucher for redeeming our car from the parking lot!! Our room was large, comfortable, and well-equipped. Breakfasts were ample, with lots of choices, including fresh, seasonal fruit. Vence itself is a charming town, with plenty of outdoor cafes , excellent restaurants, and interesting walks. The Matisse Chapel is not to be missed and it is within easy walking distance. If you are planning to stay in this area, this is the best place. We can hardly wait to return."

"This hotel offers a good way to visit Vence without feeling hemmed in by tourists. The best things about the hotel are its quiet location, the in-room air conditioning, the swimming pool, and the on-site parking. Note that the English-language description of the hotel on ********** incorrectly states that bed sheets and towels are not available. Of course they are! The location of the hotel is convenient: it is just a few minutes walk to the busy narrow streets of the historical center and is about ten minutes walk to the Matisse Chapel. Another advantage of the hotel is that it is very quiet because it is not right in the center of the crowded town. The hotel is small with only a handful of rooms which makes it cosy. For those people arriving by car, the hotel has convenient on-site parking which costs 8 Euros per night (you need to reserve the parking). Note that the entry to the hotel is on a lower level and you have to go up some stairs to get to the rooms and pool. Nina who greeted us at the reception desk was friendly and helpful. We stayed in room number 2 which is on an upper floor and looks out over the terrace and over the garden next door. The bed was comfortable; the bathroom is small but fully equipped and includes a walk-in shower. Best of all, the in-room air conditioning was very much appreciated and allowed us to get a good night's sleep during July's heatwave. The swimming pool is a major bonus at Villa Roseraie. After a day of sightseeing, it was great being able to take a refreshing dip in the attractive pool and then relax on the loungers. Special large blue towels for swimming are stored in a poolside basket. Breakfast is included in the cost of the room and offers a small range of the usual items, and there are trays so that you can take things out to the terrace and eat in the fresh morning air. But, the quality of the food was fairly disappointing. For example, if you are looking for healthy yoghurt or healthy cereals you will find only sugar-filled options. And, instead of serving bread and pastries from the local bakery that is situated just a few steps down the road, the hotel instead offers unremarkable packaged items from a supermarket. There are a few other things that could be changed to improve the hotel. First, in the terrace and pool area, outdoor speakers play rock music from early in the morning until nighttime. The music is a distraction from enjoying the garden and the Alpes-Maritimes views especially when eating breakfast on the terrace o relaxing by the pool. Second, the room contained a small refrigerator but the freezer compartment needed to be defrosted in order for the fridge to be effective. Third, the room contained a scented deoderiser machine that leaves an artificial perfume smell on clothes and luggage. To summarise: Villa Roseraie is a great place to stay when visiting Vence. Although a few things could be improved, we would consider staying here again."

This family run hotel was very welcoming , the bedroom with balcony was clean , and although it overlooked part of the road into the town , the sound of traffic was never a problem for us . There is a path /little road right next to the hotel which leads upwards into the town centre . The hotel breakfast was basic , the dinner was same but home made . Delicious desserts. There is a pool but it was closed as too early in the spring season . The bus stop toward St Paul de Vence is just across the road . We enjoyed our stay very much ."

"We traveled in June 2023. We rented a car and drove to the property, easy to find even though the roads are tiny....be careful if traveling at night. Food and service was amazing. A wonderful place to dine. We stayed for three nights. The pool and pool service was top notch. Turn down service was lovely and the staff was always very friendly. I do think they need to communicate better. They do not have irons in the room and we requsted one and they said they would do it for us. But...they charged us $35 for two shirts. They did not communicate that there would be a charge. We called the front desk to inquire about that and all they said was sorry we did not tell you. We also had a lot of ants on our balcony...it was really gross. They did spray non-toxic stuff to help with the issue. Vence is a very pretty town and this hotel is worth a few nights, very unique and again the food was delicious. The breakfast everyday was wonderful and creative We regret renting a car and driving there ourselfs. It would have been easier taking a taxi from Nice. We came all the way from Saint Tropez, so we wish we would have dropped our car off in Nice by the train station. Tips: We traveled with our daughter who was 11 at the time. They treated her like a princess. This hotel also has an amazing spa....and great gym. Not to be missed!!"

"My wife & I enjoyed a great stay here. Location is very good, 10 mins walk into the lovely town of Vence & 10 mins drive into St Paul de Vence and only 30 mins dive to Nice. Rooms are very well appointed, clean & comfortable. There’s plenty of sun beds & day beds dotted around the garden to relax and enjoy the sun. WiFi is excellent, strong enough to stream from Netflix. The staff were excellent and very helpful, recommending take away deliveries when the restaurant was shut & providing us with cutlery & crockery when delivered. Restaurant was fantastic (separate review). Only reason for not awarding 5 stars is because of the prices of extras... a cup of coffee was 7 euros!! Small bottles of water in the mini bar 4 euros. 10 euros for a cognac. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend. "

"La Maison du Frêne is a one of a kind B&B located on a dead end block facing the outside facing wall of the Medieval part of town of Vence. Staying there is like living inside a museum with artwork spread across the entrance, the stairs, the dining room and your room. We stayed in the "Vallauris" room on the second floor lavishly decorated with antiques and artwork. The room is large and comprises the bedroom, a separate desk and reading area and a large separate bedroom. Thiery you host, will answer all of your questions and is ready to suggest things to do. Antoine, Guy Boilleaut's son was also very helpful. He offered us a reservation to the restaurant accross the street after the other couple cancelled. There is no parking at the restaurant but there are two parking garage nearby and it is a short walk back to the B&B. There are good restaurants 5 minutes away."

"We booked the last room in the hotel, not because of cost, because it was the last room. What a mistake! The room was filthy - there was a dirty gap in the corner where there were lots of spider. There weren’t any plug sockets - I bent down on the floor and came away with 7 bites which I think came from fleas. There was a huge machine which I think was a fan The decor is old and dirty and I felt grubby even walking into the room. I wish I had taken photos of the room but only have the front entrance. This is the fifth place we have stayed on this visit to France. Without exception, everyone before has been professional and friendly. Here the hotelier was aggressive from the moment we walked in and was only interested in making sure we knew the code to get back in at night as they wanted to go home. After a long argument, ******* and the owner agreed that we would be moved to another hotel. Be very careful of this hotel. This room should not be sold to anyone."

"The DIana proved a good choice for a one-night stay in Vence. All was great and the underground parking was a genuine benefit as our arrival coincided with the local music festival which clogged the streets with unusual volumes of cars. The walk from the hotel into the centre of town was no more than 5 minutes which was perfect for this bunch of oldies. Staff were friendly and accommodating and the breakfast was just fine. Rooms are modern and clean. Unfortunately, we didnt have a chance to try out the roof terrace/spa. Next trip, maybe."

"We planned on staying 2 nights but didn't stay even for 1 night. Room was tiny, fridge still dirty with olives from previous client in fridge. ice box iced up. Big stain on ceiling, door to room paint flaking off, bathroom shower floor tiles broken and looked dirty. Poolside rough stones and grass surrounding pool mostly soil. No cushion for wooden sunbed so very hard.very noisy due to construction site next door. First time I have ever left a hotel as felt it was not clean. "
