"My husband and I have just returned from a fabulous 7 day stay at the Perantzada Hotel in Vathy, Ithaca. This hotel is an absolute gem. We loved everything about it. Our room was tastefully put together. Mattress and pillows very comfortable. Thick cotton dressing gowns. Hair drier. Nespresso machine (capsules supplied but cheaper to buy at local supermarket). Plenty of towels and face clothes which were laundered everyday. Endless supply of complimentary still water. Shampoo and soaps. Double glazing which muffled the sounds of the early morning chorus. Room was light and very clean. Our balcony was small but facilitated 2 chairs. Our view was just lovely overlooking the harbour in Vathy. Each bedroom has a name, ours was Starfruit. The communal areas were magical. Small well kept terraces dotted around. The infinity pool section was 'dreamy'. Comfortable sofas / chairs and wooden sunbeds. Beach towels and pool towels readily available. Our tariff was bed and breakfast. The options for breakfast were good. Pastries, croissants, fruit, eggs, meats, yoghurt, juices. Particularly good coffee including decaf. Lunch is available and although the menu is limited it is perfectly acceptable. Enjoying a local rose wine or beer by the pool at whatever time of day cemented our dream holiday. To make our experience that much better the staff at this establishment were fantastic. Antonio (the manager) and Katerina are the kindest, most helpful, lovely people. They made sure our stay was faultless from the get go. They went above and beyond. After 7 days we now consider them as friends and very much look forward to seeing the again soon. Thank you SO much."

"This establishment is made up of several recently renovated buildings. It has a lovely atmosphere. Our accommodation was very spacious: two beautiful bedrooms, a living room, a proper kitchen, a beautiful terrace (with a sea view), and a small balcony. It was clean and well-equipped; there was even a small dishwasher. We only had one problem: the oven didn't work; in fact, as soon as we turned it on, it tripped the circuit breaker. I reported it to the reception manager, but nothing seems to have been resolved. It's quite possible (and even highly recommended) to book directly through the Ithaca'Poem website. It's quick and easy to book by sending a deposit via bank transfer. And it's especially advantageous, as the price is significantly lower than what wholesalers offer. We had a wonderful time at this place and left with regret."

"Very dissapointed with this Hotel even though we haven’t even got there!! We had it booked for 5days in late sept on an island hopping holiday but unfortunately had to cancel all our 18day holiday due to my wife developing a severe blood clot. We knew that the holiday would be lost due to a non refundable policy, so they kept the 500 Euros but what made me cringe was the fact they charged me another £30euros to cancel our holiday!!! We are returning next year but will be avoiding this hotel at all costs. Be careful when booking this Hotel. "

"Reading the previous 2020 reviews for this accommodation, we chose it for our last year's vacation on the beautiful island of Ithaca. Unfortunately, we had not seen the 2 2023 reviews with a rating of 1-2/5, with which -after a holiday- we completely agree. We want to share our experience to inform and deter future tenants. Breakfast was basic: a few basic packaged foods in the fridge that were not renewed or enriched during the week of our stay. Nothing fresh and handmade except for 2 slices of fresh cake that they offered us one evening. The bed was unacceptable: sinking in the center and creaking strongly at the slightest body movement. My husband, with some back pain issue, was forced to sleep on the living room sofa for 5 nights. The cleanliness was minimal: the very kind Gerta emptied the trash every day, changed towels and sheets only once, I had everything in order but it didn't smell clean. Surely these things happen because an agency took over and there is no longer the personal care and hospitality that the residents received before Covid- this is no longer an excuse-. We expressed our complaints to the girl from the agency and we are still waiting for a call from the manager. Who had sent us a payment reminder by SMS 2 days before our departure. Impersonal... Too bad because it is in a beautiful spot with a view, with satisfactory equipment but with outdated aesthetics and no renewal especially in bed-rest items. No personal interest and care. Only for exploitation. How much more...??"
