As a road warrior, I am an obsessive review reader and my usual rewards chain did not have good reviews for their Valdosta location. However, the Drury did, so I decided to give it a try. The people were incredibly friendly and helpful. The room looked to be brand new. The linens were smooth, the mattress just the right combo of soft and firm, and the bed was made to military precision. The shower was hot and had an adjustable rain shower head. I didn’t have time to stay for breakfast but it smelled delicious. I anticipate another visit to Valdosta and will definitely choose to return to the Drury.

I stay at this hotel a few times a year. Valdosta is a small town with not a lot of hotel options. The hotel is usually clean, and breakfast selection is reasonable. This stay they seemed to be out of a few items and staff was somewhat disinterested. Maybe they had a couple of bad days. The bed was comfortable, but pillows need work. The thing that really led to my rating was the ceiling in the room. There was, what appeared to be water damage. Some looked to have been hastily repaired and some not repaired at all. The area was hit with some bad storms just prior to my stay, so maybe that was the issue. Still, I cancelled my stay for this weekend. I am planning to go back next moth and hope things are better.

I really wanted to like this hotel as my husband often visits on his trips, but the rooms really need a good cleaning. It is truly a 2 star hotel. Until they remodel, I'm not sure we will be back, especially at $180 per night and we travel through this way several times per year. We found hair and gunk below the vanity in the bathroom and the carpets were pretty dirty, leaving stains on our socks when walking across the room. Beds and pillows are mediocre for sleeping. The good news is that the hotel staff seemed very nice, carts were readily available, the hotel guest rooms are very well insulated from the expressway noise right next to it and that the free breakfast in the morning was surprisingly good and offerings better than expected. Finding the "front" entrance can be a bit tricky, so be prepared to turn a bit earlier than expected off of the road and drive down a long, odd road to the hotel front door.

Your gift card process is terrible. Cannot utilize discounts. I suspect that is so your company can profit on those opportunities. I am on a mission to make consumers aware to end your business. It only benefits your business. Waste of a middleman. The hotel was dirty in our room. I’m sending them the pics because you have no value to customers. Your value is only for yourselves.

All staff was ultra pleasant. The property was very clean. My family and I felt very safe. However, the layout of the bathroom was ridiculous. You walk right into the toilet. You have to squeeze into the vanity to close the door. If you lean up against the toilet your calves rub against it. That is gross. We stayed one night, so we tolerated it. We were in room 521....it butted up to the elevator. The elevator was not as quiet as assumed. Waaaa....humming up. Waaaaa humming down. Up and down, down and up. Stop, start. Stop, start. Totally not cool. Finally, Marriott often does not credit my points until I chase them down. I even when I ask during check in or check out if my points will be credited. That alone makes me want to "cash" out and go back to the Holiday Inn. 4.5 stars.
