I had the most unforgettable stay at the truly 5 star Neela Boutique Hotel in Stone Town. The architecture is breathtaking, blending traditional Zanzibari charm with modern elegance. Each room is a work of art, with meticulous attention to detail that makes every space feel luxurious and unique. The rooftop terrace was the highlight of our stay, where we enjoyed an incredible dinner with stunning views of the city and the Indian Ocean. The atmosphere was magical, and the food was nothing short of spectacular.I canβt recommend Neela Boutique Hotel enough β from the impeccable service to the beautiful design and ideal location, itβs truly a gem in the heart of Stone Town. Utterly enchanting- from our 5am arrival until our departure 3 days later we were looked after so incredibly well. The hotel organised our airport pickup and opened up with a gentle tap (you may need help to find it as itβs in the narrow streets of old Stonetown). The front of house was superb and Peter took care of us. The hotel has so much atmosphere, full of antiques and lush vegetation. Breakfast is in the roof balcony. Excursions can be organised. I had read a few unpleasant reviews but I canβt think why, cleanliness was first class and the hospitality was outstanding. I hope you are lucky enough to find a room - we stayed 3 nights it was so good.

I had not planned to stay at this hotel but spontaneously decided to book it as I wanted to experience Stone Town before I left Zanzibar. Itβs a little out of Stone Town so you need to get a taxi ($15 each way). The hotel is very corporate. I think itβs where a lot of the airline crew stay as they kept asking me if I was airline crew. It was also completely empty. I think I was possibly the only guest and the hotel is pretty big. There seemed to be hundreds of staff so you would expect them to be attentive. Unfortunately not. Most of them just stood around chatting to each other. The service overall was pretty disappointing. I even had to bring my own bags to reception where there were loads of staff just standing around doing nothing. That said, I had a large swimming pool completely to myself and the rooms are very comfortable. If you want traditional design, donβt opt for this one. If you just want a bit of modern luxury - this is a great option. If they could sort out the service and even just a few more guests to give it a bit of atmosphere, it would score slightly higher.

The front desk provided a room that was already occupied. When we checked in at 23:00 late at night and opened the door, a middle-aged man was already sleeping on the bed. The man was frightened and very angry. Similarly, we were also very frightened and felt very embarrassed. For such a misunderstanding, the front desk only apologized to the man, but did not apologize to us.
After changing rooms, our twin bed room was changed to a double bed room. The hotel did not explain this. Because it was late at night, we gave up changing beds and rested.
There was a musty smell in the room, and a bottle of mineral water was empty, and it was not cleaned. There were many flies flying around in the restaurant during breakfast.
I am very dissatisfied with this accommodation experience.

The hygiene is very average. The bed feels unwashed. There are unknown hairs on the sheets. If you stay here, it is recommended to bring a disposable three-piece suit. You have to bring your own towels. They only provide a bed and a place to shower. There are a lot of flies in the dining area, and the beach behind is full of garbage and seaweed.
The service is very good, whether it is the front desk or the restaurant staff. The eggs for breakfast are not bad, and there are a few kittens.

If you are looking for a beautiful location with excellent service, you will be very happy at Zanzi Resort. We stayed in villa number 5, the villa has everything you need and the staff will go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. Included : Coffee and tea station Flashlight and lighter Umbrellas Room safe Anaya soap, shampoo, conditioner Hair dryer Bath robes Outdoor shower Private pool and cabana Path to the ocean FOOD : the chef will accommodate any request and his dishes look like a work of art. Excellent flavours and choice to suit your taste. Staff : the manager, Nivot was very kind and courteous. He will go above and beyond to make your stay pleasant. TIPS : Beach shoes are necessary as the shoreline is rocky. Cheetahβs Rock is 10 minutes away and well worth a visit. Book a massage, the ladies are wonderful and you overlook the ocean and listen to the waves during your choice of treatment. Stone Town is a short drive and they will arrange a driver to take you on a tour, we customized our tour, to see what interested us. This is a small hotel and a great escape, I would definitely return.

LLeidingchaishaoThe room was nice and clean. The service is quite good and proactive. The environment is great. There is also the only Chinese restaurant on Sang Island 300 meters away, which is very cost-effective. Recommended. However, the dolphin watching and prison island recommended by the hotel are relatively expensive, so if possible, look outside.
GGuest UserThe good/ great
Food absolutely beautiful, the breakfast are fantastic, staff are absolutely lovely and can't do enough for you, rooms are clean, quaint and fully of lovely fittings and pictures. Veiw from roof top at night is just gorgeous. Location fantastic, everything easily accessible. Staff super helpful and thoughfull. The hotel is very old but absolutely adorable and full of character. They have gorgeous wines too and they're fairly priced. Gorgeous little court yard with pool and tropical plants throughout the the
Not so good. WiFi mostly off or very poor so I couldn't get much work done. Beds are very firm, caused me a bit of hip pain at times because they're so hard. Soft Mattress topper option would be good in order to solve this.
Would recommend? Absolutely!
GGuest UserVery nice hotel. Conveniently located to all Stone Town attractions. If there are any issues the front desk manager will do her best to rectify the situation. My only issue unfixable was the food or maybe It was the water they refill for the rooms. I recommend be on side of caution and drink only bottled water. Don't eat anything uncooked (salads juices made with ice etc.) And you won't spend most of your time in bathrooms.
XXINThe breakfast style is relatively small, the environment and service are acceptable, the taste of the two meals is more average, but when I shop in a small shop, I casually went to other restaurants to eat, so it does nβt matter what the hotel βs meal is
CCheng Chi KeungAntique hotel. On the path inside Stone City. Breakfast fruit buffet, coffee tea buffet. Breakfast order yourself. Mushroom beans are cooked. Egg queue. Bread toast. Very satisfied.
Radiotherapy is smaller. The hotel arranged a barge to pick up a tour to Guidao. Taxi is also arranged by the hotel. Cheap price.
GGuest UserI landed at Golden Tulip because Trip.com messed up my booking elsewhere, and I only found out about it at the last minute.
The location is right by the port, on a side of town that feels quite sketchy. However, Stone Town is small and safe, so it didnβt matter too much. The rooms are nice enough. They have everything you need. People are friendly all over Zanzibar, and at the Golden Tulip no less. The pool is lovely, and service is okay. Sometimes I had to ask more than once, phone down because my towel had disappeared, or guide them through my own bill.
The restaurant is pretty bad. Iβm not a particularly fussy eater, but donβt feel the need to eat bad food. I ordered three tester dishes on my first day, and didnβt finish any. Another traveler had a similar experience. Breakfast is okay. There is fruit, yoghurt, pastries, omelettes on request, toast, cereal sometimes, and a variety of hot dishes. Nobody seems to notice when the table has no cutlery or when the coffee, milk or a given hot dish runs out. Most days, I found the cereal (if they had it), fruit, and at least one hot dish edible.
GGuest UserBEYT AL SALAAM was superb. Aminia and team were the nicest people we have met. There kind assistance with all our plans and excursions made our holiday truly unforgettable. The room was tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. A large comfortable bed with chrisp white linen and very comfortable pillows. It had an airconditioner, ceiling fan, tv and tea and coffee facilities. A nice indoor swimming pool
TRULY A GEM.
Thank you so much for making our holiday so memorable.
MmcpoThe following are real pictures and videos I took when I checked into the hotel that day. The room No. 3 on the first floor I checked into that day was originally offered to me, but after waiting for 20 minutes, I was told that there was no room upstairs. Hotel location: Zanzibar Island has convenient transportation. Hotel facilities: Take a look at the pictures for yourself, they were taken on the day of check-in. Looking at the pictures of bedding and linens, the bed is quite comfortable. Disposable slippers are provided. Hotel decoration: see pictures for yourself. Bathroom: There is no dry and wet separation. Breakfast: Look at the pictures for yourself. Hotel service staff: I personally feel that they are very service-minded and quite careless during their stay. The hotel pictures match the actual room pictures.
SSashabreakfast is my only issue there its very poor but room ,bathroom was good it was quite l slept like a baby hot shower gives them high score but no kettle or water was not that good especially coming back from a hot day .otherwise the place is better than other places l slept in zanzibar
VvaalerWell, where to start, it's a budget hotel, it works, its central, breakfast is simple but ok, staff are always happy, wifi is stabil and works fine, we hd room 104....... if you don't mind a hotel next to as mosque then it great, we on the other hand didnt appreciate it and were woken up every morning at 5, would I recommend this hotel ? Yes I would, all in all there is no view and a mosque next door, but you get what you pay for, its cheap and works.rooms were clean and tidy, toilet was loose,....... so what for 30 bucks a night
