Right next to M6, very quiet, convenient for self-driving, plenty of free parking spaces. Rich breakfast, room size is also suitable. However, there is no air conditioning and no elevator, so it is a bit tiring to carry luggage upstairs, and the toilet flushes too hard.

Great staff, lovely hotel and location. Cleanliness of the room could be improved.

Unfortunately the breakfast was cold and hard as cardboard. Although we complained there was no offer of a refund. The hotel is a lovely building and staff were pleasant and room ok but we not be returning as breakfast is important when when we are on the road travelling.

The hotel and staff in general is lovely, however the breakfast wasn’t hot enough nearly cold, I noticed a couple of cob webs in my room plus dried splash marks from I think a dropped teabag on the skirting board, just a little bad housekeeping really. For £124.00 per night it should be at a better standard.

Whilst staying at the hotel alone I’d friends along the road with other friends staying. I’ve been to the hotel before and always had an excellent night’s sleep in the extremely comfortable rooms before being looked after in the morning for tea or coffee then helped myself to the extensive and excellent quality breakfast The staff are a good crowd and ensure that if, as I suspect happens most Fridays there’s a wedding, you’re tucked away at a distance from any racket which shows that the hotel actively considers the comfort of each guest. There’s loads of parking outside and the hotel is dead easy to find and has the easiest motorway access that you’ll find One small gripe is that the ‘fitness suite’ is shut on the weekends but that doesn’t detract from the stay in the least

Decent enough stay at the hotel which was clean and well appointed with friendly helpful staff. A fitness room / gym is a big factor in where I choose to book. Making my way down to the fitness room at 05:30 to be told it doesn't open until 07:00 was a little disappointing as I had to be on the road by 07:00. Opening an unmanned fitness room at 07:00 is a little unusual considering the guest can swipe in with their card. They are normally open much earlier if not 24 hours. Had I known this I would probably have stayed elsewhere.

Superb eco. Big business that actually cares. Will be back. A real gem of an example of what investment can do. Electric car charging great. easy to do and not blocked by petrol cars. Very few hotels care. Heating is via a sustainable biomass system for year

We had our wedding here on the 16th June 2024. Its been on my mind to ensure I wrote a review. Everything was absolutely fantastic. You quite simply can't fault this place. The hotel itself is beautiful and all staff are so helpful and obliging. We live in Rainford and with our wedding being on a Sunday we wanted to try and keep it local so as not to expect guests to need to take a Monday off from work. If you want to feel like you are in the lake district but not at lake district prices this is the place to be. Nothing was too much trouble. Due to illness we had last minute changes to our guest list which meant changes in choice of food etc. Both Gill and Liza and are so helpful and obliging. Everything was perfect from start to finish. Big Kev and Little Kev so helpful, table set exactly how I had described. I had different table gifts and I worried some guests may get the wrong gift...worry not it was spot on! Food, everyone commented on the quality of the food, we had the beef and you certainly get a decent sized portion. Once we sent our invites and our guests saw the hotel most of them decided to book to stay over, everyone commented on the standard of everything. Breakfast the next day was also lovely. Big shout out to the staff on the day also, bar staff, waiters and reception as everyone was lovely. Not forgetting Tony the DJ who also obliged in playing a playlist just as I had described. Last shout out to reception, my mum had left her jewellery in the room after checking out. I didn't catch the lady's name but on Monday she retrieved the jewellery and put it safe until I could collect it...thank you. Its all the little things that mount up to make a perfect day. I've tried to attach a selection of photos to give a feel for how nice the outside surroundings look, with so may nice places for photographs.

From signing in til leaving, our whole stay was sincerely amazing. Every staff member so helpful and the receptionist, I'm sure didn't leave! We were there for the Michael Buble tribute night (who was great). The 3 course meal was so nice and I can't believe how efficient the staff were. Each course was served with great speed and efficiency and breakfast was again quick clean and very tasty. We were there a few weeks earlier for a wedding, and I guarantee, we'll be back again soon. Highly highly recommended
