Beautiful home in a beautiful spot! Julie was warm and welcoming when we arrived. When she learned we didn't have a booking for dinner that night, she quickly offered to call the Rusty Mackerel to see if she could secure a booking for us. The home is clean and has so many little touches (fresh cut flowers, candles, nice toiletries). Best of all, Julie was friendly and offered some sightseeing options in the area.

We phoned to let them know we would be slightly later than the 9pm check in time. The man I spoke to (Kenneth Doherty) told us we couldn’t stay there if we did not arrive before 9pm. He was abrupt, unhelpful and was not interested in trying to find a solution, such as leaving a key somewhere safe where we could pick it up. He did not care that myself and my 93 year old father were left without accommodation for the night and still wanted to charge me as "it was not his problem I couldn’t get there on time." Our relations in Donegal were all shocked and disgusted by this. Avoid this unfriendly and unwelcoming man, there are many other lovely welcoming options in the area.

Initially I wasn’t sure I’d be hanging around for breakfast but with the Atlantic weather creeping in I ordered last minute, the room was very comfy and modern and the bathroom was ideal just for me, the driveway a bit precarious with a motorbike but I wasn’t the only biker bedding down there for the night. I woke up warm and refreshed and wow I was soooo unprepared for the feast that was a full cooked breakfast and continental style buffet galore xx The staff were really lovely and I would defo add it to my list of must recommend highly places to stop over some amazing views just around the corner !!

Very nice accommodation in lovely location. Bedroom quiet and comfortable, staff very friendly and excellent cooked breakfasts. 20 minutes walk down to Rusty Mackerel pub for food and live music (need to book a table as very busy) or 10 minute drive into Carrick (pub with food; grocery shop; good fish and chips from van in central square). Lovely walk along Pilgrim's Path to top of Slieve League cliffs, but shrouded in cloud so came back down same path rather than trying to navigate along cliff tops in poor visibility. Visited nearby Glencolumbkille where there is a great folk museum, cliff walk, standing stones and megalithic tombs. Walked over to lovely An Port with dramatic sea views. Returned in car via Malin More taking in about 8 megalithic tombs (find using map as not signposted), with most spectacular being the Cloghanmore courtyard tomb on road back from Malin More to Carrick. Moved on to Bunbeg and looked at impressive portal tombs at Kilclooney More on the way north, as well as a short visit to Aran Island (ferry from Burtonport).

Cute family owned inn. Very comfortable but basic rooms. Breakfast is not included despite the B&B name. 10 euro per person. Very close to slieve league. Close to Rusty mackerel for dinner. Wi-Fi is so weak that essentially it doesn’t work, even walking around to the other parts of the house. No common room for socializing or to play games or hang out.
