Very nice property and service. Let down bady by outdated and poor room quality. Stayed in room 106. Basin wouldn't drain , meaning you brush your teeth and rinse ...and it stays there . Shower is in the bath , so a bathroom/shower combo, no separate shower. Problem is that the bathtub is soft, narrow and of poor quality . The taps are two separate hot and cold taps which are in front of the bath and at the bottom. You have to bend to adjust while the shower overhead is showering you at once. Can't understand who would approve such a catastrophic setup.

By the best of good fortune I found Anchor's Rest for a weekend visit to the Durban area. It was he most pleasant surprise to find this beautiful house, to get to stay in the exquisite Garden Room and enjoy the hospitality and friendliness of Peter and Cilla and their lovely staff. The whole ambience was terrific, the room was very comfortable and beautifully presented and the breakfast was a great start to the day. And they were so helpful with helping arrange transport and make the best of our stay. In summary, if you looking for somewhere to stay in Umhlanga, look no further, treat yourself and book with Cilla & Peter.

I had the pleausure of staying at the HoneyPot which I was in Umhlanga for Work. I was out the entire day and HoneyPot was just my place to sleep. Bob is the best host! He is such a kind soul and saw my early mornings and my late nights so proceeded to make my stay enjoyable non the less, Thank you so much Bob for my packed breakfasts that you had made everyday and put in my room so that i had something to eat before I left. And thank you to your amazing staff for cleaning my room so well that when i Came home late it was so nice to climb into a warm made up bed. Thank you for Having me! I would definitely visit again :)

Hilton Garden Inn in Umlanga is a great place to stay with its convenient location and comfortable rooms that are small. The property court yard is in close approximately to Legacy Yard Food Hall. It is a hotel that offers a local experience with a touch of international standards. Despite the positives, there is room for improvement. The coffee machine in the breakfast area needs attention as. The quality of coffee is not up to the mark and this can be a letdown for coffee lovers. Will definitely be back to try the high tea out!

For some of the best views in Umhlanga, try to secure a room on the top floor. Room 903 at The Premier Splendid Inn Umhlanga is seafacing & was absolutely fabulous with top decor. The deluxe suite is complete with living room & gorgeous bedroom with king size bed & a balcony. A huge luxurious bath tub with separate shower and all the frills made for a gorgeous pamper session. We ordered room service with delicious grub and experienced phenomenal service throughout our stay. Definitely a winner!

We had an Amazing experience at the Holiday Inn Express, Umhlanga. This has to be one of the best service I've experienced (local and international included). Wouldn't hesitate to highly recommend this Establishment. Check in was awesome. Brendan and team were extremely Welcoming, Friendly and Efficient. We were settled into the room in no time as well as informed of all the amenities. We traveled as a group and the team helped us to get rooms close to each other which was so convenient. Breakfast was scrumptious and the service exceeded our expectations. Trisha and the team take their work and service to customers so seriously - like it's their own company. My son wanted Chocolate muffins and they baked it specially for him - how amazing is that! We were leaving early to the airport and Trisha offered to have breakfast ready from 5am - was so impressed and grateful. This has to be one of the best hotels across the world. Kudos to the team and leadership. Highly recommend anyone to not hesitate to book here. Thanks so much guys

I had a reasonably good stay at the Garden Court Hotel in Umhlanga. the room comfortable and the food was delicious, especially the Mac and Cheese and the spiced chicken wings. Only criticisms were the pillows being all hard and the TV channels that were very limited.

This has to be the best boutique hotel in the area. The building is lovely with fantastic views and they have thought of everything- a beautiful viewing deck for breakfast and a relaxed bar. The rooms are super clean and neat and comfortable. The service has been fantastic since day one and the breakfast is excellent. Loved every minute of our stay here.

GGuest UserThis B&B sports 12 good sized to frankly large rooms, in Umhlanga Rocks, around 40 yards from the beach (our bathroom, in #3, was humongous, and beautiful). Hosts are so nice, and tolerated many COVID associated rebooking from us, and others. Grounds have a nice pool, and many cozy nooks for reading. Not many games in house, so bring your own entertainment. Breakfasts are great. Cowrie Cove is over a mile from Umhlanga, and thus over a mile from any eating or shopping establishment. Uber rides are only around 100 Rand round trip—more like 400 R for a round trip for Durban. The area has been hit hard by rains, and the beach has a lot of trash on it. Beach is pretty narrow and steep, too, and it’s hard to walk long distances on it—but that is not this establishments problem.

From the warm welcome on arrival, to having met Justin..he is simply the best !! Such good fun and a wonderfully helpful person, who has the most endearing personality… What an asset to The Oyster Box! Our stay was celebrating my friend’s birthday weekend..staying a beautiful, sea facing room. Truly spoilt with the best food, oysters and ofcourse the champagne ! Even meeting Skebenga the cat..an absolute treat ! PS happy 19th birthday Skebenga 🎉 Thank you to all at The Oyster Box for special memories..🥰 Maria x

GGuest UserThe hotel is in a great location and the staff were helpful and friendly. I didn't particularly like the restaurant/ room service menu as it ONLY had milkshakes on their drinks menu. You have to inquire about other drinks like wine, juices, coffee etc. It would be nicer if all the drinks prices were listed. The kettle in my room was dirty but housekeeping and the front desk were apologetic and replaced it with a clean kettle quickly. Every cafe or restaurant around the hotel opens at 9a.m, so I recommend paying for the hotel breakfast buffet if you're an early bird like me. I learnt about loadshedding after coming back from a day out and finding no power except a light and the tv in my room. For foreign guests who don't know about it, it might be a nice touch if the hotel could place the loadshedding schedule in guest rooms so it doesn't come as an unwelcome surprise. The bed was comfy and the wifi was usually fast. Overall, I had a good stay at the hotel.

GGuest UserThis review relates mainly to one specific issue, but it was the reason that I selected this hotel over the other choice I had. I run but do not like running on the road in cities I do not know. I therefore selected Coastlands as it has a fitness centre. My other option didn't. There are two treadmills in the fitness centre, both essentially unusable. The one is stuck in about a 3 degree incline and cannot be flattened. The other had a dilapidated running belt that was torn and which kept ”sticking” or ”stalling” every third or fourth step of my left foot. I've never seen such dilapidated equipment at any other hotel I've stayed at. There were also button covers missing and buttons that did not work. While the room was clean and nice, there was no lighting above the desk which made working on a laptop difficult. The water spout control on the bidet was broken. The plug on the sink leaked water at a rapid rate.

Location of the resort: The resort is central and one has quick access to the malls, restaurants and highway. View Stunning view and good seenary Negative review: The blanks in room 802 had bed bugs. This was reported to the housekeeping manager. They manage to change the linen but it’s unacceptable for a 4 star hotel Price The cost of the stay was not worth the value I paid. The prices vary on a daily basis but I paid a flat rate of R3396.60 for weekday and weekend stay. I stayed 4 days / 5 nights. Cleanliness of the apar**ent Bathrooms were still dirty at check in. One can see they redo the walls and tiles however the peel paint was still on the floor throughout my stay. Please go check it might still be behind the bathroom door. Shop No shop at the premises to buy swim goodies for kids. Entertainment for kids: It is limited, I tried accessing the games area and it was locked through my stay. There is only one pool table at the pool area. Swipe facilities for put put is not available all is cash. My proposal is to charge the fees to the room and bill the guest at checkout. Braai area Braai-ing is not allowed Friday’s and Saturday’s, not on, as South Africans we prefer to braai over these days and on certainly on holiday. Beach access Breaker’s resort has no stair case to the Beach, one has to walk right down to bronze beach to have access and enjoy. Swimming No swimming between 7-9am and pools closes at 10pm. Ekko time shares In terms of the POPI act one need to consent for personal information to be shared with a 3rd party. I received a call from a lady by the name of Nadia from Ekko leisure requesting me to go down reception. At arrival she has a full presentation and selling time shares. She had a list of all guest and was exposed to all our personal information. This is not on. Please review the POPI act this is a breach, and kindly provide me with confirmation that the information was collected and destroyed in terms of tbe cloud governance destruction policy.

GGuest UserCabanas meaning in the English language : ”a hut, cabin, or shelter at a beach or swimming pool” And it was even worse than the name Umhlanga Cabanas. We looked forward to holiday in Umhlanga! And it's totally ruined by Umhlanga Cabanas. Not properly communicating to as at booking stage. We traveled 700km in peak traffic on Friday and was utterly disappointed by every single thing in this unit, staff, NOISY GUESTS and the resort as a whole. First of all, the pictures on the web are totally not a true reflection of the overall state of your establishment. There is only one washing machine and tumble dryer for 80 units + or 300 people!! This is unacceptable! Unhygienic ! Nobody communicated to us from the start when we made the booking that we are not going TO BE allowed to smoke on the balcony! AND MUST WALK 4 FLOORS DOWN FOR EVERY CIGARETTE! OTHERWISE WE WOULD HAVE BOOKED ELSEWHERE! We were on the 4th floor, and every time I needed to smoke, I had to walk 4 floors down ! There is no close by lift access! I had walked up 20 times down the stairs to smoke! Therefore we checked out on the first morning of the stay. WE RATHER LEFT THE It is a horrible situation, and you treat guests like it's a concentration camp ! There is also NO COVERED PARKING FOR ALL THE GUESTS! Other guests partied right through the night and shouted and listened to hard music.I informed the security guy and he pretended that he heard nothing the previous evening and morning at 03.00 am.Waited for a rude and aggressive manager to arrive until 08.00am and he just ignored the situation!- Sheldon is his name or something And came up with a lot of excuses. The bath was ruined and damaged inside. No easy access to restaurants and shopping at all! There is no parking available anywhere at day or night and beach access is also to far. Well done for ruining my holiday!!
