The waiter in the hotel lobby was polite. Maybe we checked in late, but the waiter arranged for us to check out at 11 a.m. the next day, which was very attentive. The room is overall clean and tidy. The mattress is comfortable. The shower head in the bathroom is satisfactory. The water temperature and pressure are perfect. However, the hotel is relatively remote. When I get up in the morning, the view outside the room window is pleasant. I will recommend friends to stay here again.

The ryokan cum hotel is located in a historic town dating back to the Edo period, however, this building is only 106 years old consisting of 5 rooms. I stayed at the one with beds upstairs by way of access via a steep flight of stairs, definitely not for elderly. The room was nice and clean, heating and cooling by split type aircons, bathroom with a wooden tub, no TV. Reception unavailable after 6:30pm, if you want anything after that, WhatsApp them. Since the hotel is located right on a major road, therefore, it was extremely noisy all the time with road noise. Difficult to get a decent sleep. Breakfast was served at another location, about 8-10min walk to a 160 year old building. Food was yummy and service was attentive. A nice experience overall, but for the price I would choose another one where it's in a quieter location.

I applied for the ”Good Inn Association” and was selected, and visited for the first time in four years. This is my personal opinion. When I parked my car in the parking lot and saw the building, I saw that the white exterior walls had changed to yellow, and I saw the owner's positive attitude and power. I was a little surprised when he came to pick me up and said to me in the lounge, ”It's been four years since I last stayed here.” I was shown to a room that had been renovated, with double-glazed windows, the selected manufacturer's name for the paper towel case in the toilet, the color of the outlets, the ship-shaped ceiling, etc., and the initial feeling was definitely correct. In addition, the recent article distribution on the web as a ryokan ”Kiyonoya” and the article in the Yomiuri Shimbun (Fascinated Fukuoka) with a photo of the proprietress gave me positive power. In terms of hot water, ”Chikugogawa Onsen Kiyonoya” was ranked first in the nation in the moist skin category in the 2021 Hot Spring Inn and Hotel General Election. It was featured prominently in the national edition of the Yomiuri Shimbun. In addition, the annual award certificate is displayed in the lobby. There are no problems with the bathroom and hot water. The food, both breakfast and dinner, was delicious, the staff were friendly, and the venue was a great place to eat while watching the Chikugo River flow. Returning to the room, I sat on chairs across the table from my wife and watched the Chikugo River flow while talking, which was very relaxing. We left talking about how we would like to come back again for my wife's birthday in November and for our golden wedding anniversary next year. I'm sure there are many people who stay here regularly, but I would like to sit at the back of the room. Thank you very much. I'm grateful.

A hot spring inn in Chikugogawa Onsen. It is a large hotel with a banquet hall. I stayed for one night on a weekday with a business plan with breakfast only. Prices are reasonable. The room was a twin Western-style room. It says pets are allowed, but there was no pet smell. However, I could hear dogs barking from other rooms. The hot spring at this ryokan is a thick, alkaline sulfur spring. The hot springs are licensed for drinking, so you can drink the hot springs at the hot spring. The free-flowing hot springs are very nice. The open-air bath is also built facing the river, which is nice. Breakfast is served at the venue and the contents are suitable for the price. It is a rather large ryokan, and the facilities are old because the box is large.

Old hotel, but well organized. Hot springs are free when staying, and the sulfur hot springs were really good and nice. It is 7-8 minutes by car from Chikugooishi Station, but there is no taxi at the station, so it would be better to request a pick-up service in advance. Please call a taxi if you ask. Everyone was friendly and had a good trip. If you want to feel the atmosphere of Japan without Koreans, I highly recommend it!

Far from the city location, but only about 10 minutes walk from the train station, and easy to find. Antique, good flavor, relatively simple, slightly insufficient equipment. Towels, toothbrushes, etc. need to be brought by yourself. The waiter was very friendly. During the check-in, I asked if there was a restaurant introduction nearby, and I was very patient. A good homestay experience.
