A great spot for a stop over (or longer) going further south. Plenty of space for kids in the grounds. Food was excellent, staff were fantastic. EV charging a huge benefit.

Visited mid-August for our wedding anniversary. Customer service is the main aim at this beautiful location. Every single member of the team take looking after their guests to the next level. The food is amazing, more than amazing, it’s exceptional! The property is decorated wonderfully, clean and well kept. So if you are looking for a break where you are truly welcomed and appreciated, this is the place. Easy access to Salcombe and Dartmoor.

We had a night's B&B here, on the way to our holiday accommodation further south. From arrival, to leaving, the staff were very helpful and professional. The room was beautifully furnished and decorated, and the complementary toiletries in the bathroom were amazing! There was also plenty of space to hang/store clothes etc. We found the bed very comfy and it was good to have a Nespresso in the room. The whole building has a lovely atmosphere and is nicely decorated with artifacts etc. The only thing stopping me giving 5 stars was the breakfast. I don't like huge breakfasts and they did at least have choices other than fried stuff, so I ordered the porridge. It was tepid and almost completely solid. It tasted OK but I make it better myself! My partner had the full English and he enjoyed that.

I can't say enough good things about this property, the staff that work there and the lodge that we stayed in by the side of the lake. The Lodge is quite simply exceptional. The build and fit out and furniture, the comfort of the bed, the bifold doors at the front and the view is incomparable. They have thought of everything inside the Lodge and made it such a beautiful place to stay. We didn't want to leave. The size and comfort of the bed in particular is fantastic. It's probably the best room I've stayed in in terms of design, comfort and amenity. One day, we woke up, opened the bifold doors and lay in bed watching a heron in the lake, 20 feet away. The team literally couldn't do enough for us. Anything we wanted. The dining room, the menu and the food was really good.

Unfortunately After reading other reviews and our own experience,The customer is not always right as the management here are readily and quickly to point out why you are wrong. The food was good but the service style led by management sadly lets the venue down.Don’t dare to complain

We had an excellent stay at the Turtley Corn Mill. We reserved the lakeside cottage, and it delivered a wholesome, serene and exquisite experience of a kind not easily found in the UK. The lake and surrounding grounds are a haven to local avian life and the cottage offers a panoramic, unfettered access to all bird lovers, offering the most intimate vantage points with a particularly powerful set of binoculars that came with the cottage! The pub owners are affable hosts and helped us create a bespoke itinerary for a full day visit of the vicinity to explore and weave the rich experience of the surroundings. The food at the adjoining restaurant in the pub was categorically delectable and goobleworthy! Overall, it was a marvel of a time that will be etched into fond memories. The ostentation of resident peafowl and peacocks prancing the grounds in an unbridled manner was a delight to the eyes and soul. We will be back and the stay at Turtley, especially the lakeside cottage, comes with our highest recommendation for anyone looking for a getaway! Thanks to the entire team that made this memorable for us.

Just returned from a fantastic week long stay at Turtley with my wonderful wife and our 9 month old Cockapoo, Milo. We stayed in one of the lakeside lodges which was really amazing - wonderful views and sounds of nature - and fantastic luxury amenities in the lodge. I can’t thank the wonderful staff enough, they were so friendly and helpful and fussed over Milo (even when he was barking 😂) and looked after us at all meal times. The food is as fabulous as ever and the grounds are so spacious, you can always find space to yourself as needed. We used it as a base to explore Devon and Cornwall and can’t recommend it highly enough. Plan a visit, you won’t regret it - we will certainly be back!
