I have stayed here three times. This time, the room with hot spring had been renovated, and I was able to enjoy the retro atmosphere while staying there comfortably. There are five baths, including the room and the open-air bath. The hot spring is great for warming up. The breakfast we had in our spacious room on the second floor was delicious and relaxing, while looking out at the bright spring light and fresh greenery. I think it was better than having dinner in our room. As a side note, the siphon coffee with cookies for 600 yen that we had in the reception room on the first floor after the meal was also excellent. I think the water here is also delicious.

It's conveniently located just a short walk from the station. The building is over 100 years old, so it's old-fashioned and relaxing. It was also great that we could try out three different types of baths. One of them was an open-air bath, and the changing room was outdoors, so I think you need to take precautions against the cold during the cold winter months. The inn also gave us free tickets to three public hot springs. The food was kaiseki cuisine, and the ingredients were delicious, including local wagyu beef shabu-shabu. There were temples and other sights to see around the inn, so it was a good place for a stroll.

When I checked in, I was surprised to see a woman wearing a Taisho Roman style arrow pattern and hakama. His demeanor is relaxed and truly retro. Impatient people may get irritated. Everything is Japanese retro. The lobby and the hallway that runs through the garden are truly retro. The scenery looked like something you could see in a historical drama. There are 3 baths. The two bathrooms are divided into a men's bath and a women's bath depending on the time of day. The open-air baths are separate for men and women, with separate entrances. Meals are taken in the dining hall, and the pillars and beams of this dining hall are reminiscent of a castle. At breakfast, the woman in yesterday's hakama and kimono was wearing a black dress and white apron. It was a Taisho romantic maid costume. Dinner includes 3 seasonal matsutake mushroom dishes. I had a relaxing time for the first time in a while.

I used it on a solo winter trip. Hot springs are the best. A marble bath unlike any other Izu Wakakusa stone has a beautiful green Wakakusa bath A proper open-air bath that is not attached to the hotel The food is also delicious. Each kaiseki meal is handmade, the soup stock is very delicious, and the staff's hospitality is top-notch. The fresh flowers, the menu, and the service from check-in to check-out are all pleasant. The interior of the hotel has a Taisho Romantic atmosphere, and the costumes of the waitresses are tailored to suit the occasion, such as kimono, arrow pattern, and maid uniform. . The scenery of the corridor running through the courtyard is very nice ♪

We stayed in a detached room with an open-air bath. You can see the cherry blossoms from the open-air bath, and you can enjoy a luxurious time many times a day (because you took a bath many times). I think this is one of the few ryokan in Japan where you can enjoy authentic kaiseki cuisine. (Isn't it hard to find a ryokan that serves such authentic Japanese food?) The large public bath has a retro feel and the quality of the hot springs is good. It is an "extraordinary world" that shows us.

extraordinary world. . . In December, we stayed at a hot spring inn in Shinshu in winter. Bessho Onsen Ryokan Hanaya A registered tangible cultural property, this is a wonderful ryokan with a sense of Taisho romance. Hot springs, food, architecture, courtyards Nature, culture, hospitality Enjoy three hot spring baths with free-flowing 100% natural hot springs. I was intoxicated by the scenery of the corridor garden, and I was able to enjoy it in a relaxed flow of time.

Overall it was a wonderful stay experience! Thank you very much ☺️ 🟡 Facilities - The building is a cultural property and has some old equipment, but it is a very tasteful and nice inn. Additionally, since the breezeway faces outdoors, there are occasional insects flying around, so if you're not into insects, you might want to avoid them (I didn't mind them, so I had a good time there).・There is also a coffee room, shop, and library. The library has everything from children's books to books for adults, and I thought it was a wonderful collection of books that people of all generations could enjoy. 🟡Room ・The room was decorated with seasonal hanging scrolls and flowers, giving it a lovely atmosphere.・Yukata, towels, disposable combs, toothbrushes, and shavers are provided.・I was very happy to see that Misuzu candy, a representative of Ueda, was provided in the room🍬 ・For drinks, before dinner, you can boil water in the electric kettle in the room and drink the tea provided. After dinner, they prepared cold water in the room (they also laid out the futon for me), so I was able to spend my time without any inconvenience (you can also purchase drinks from the refrigerator in the room) ). Room service is also apparently available. 🟡Staff The staff at the inn took great care of us from the time we checked in to the time we checked out. I was nervous as it was my first time staying at a prestigious inn, but thanks to you I was able to forget about time and relax! 🟡About food, services, and facilities ・Since it was summer when I visited, I was able to have ramune for 100 yen per bottle or shaved ice for 300 yen per plate on the veranda of the building.😊I went to the hot springs. I had a ramune drink after entering the bath, and I felt that it was a wonderful attempt to spend a peaceful summer while looking at the waterwheel. ・The hot springs were also a comfortable space, and the next day, my skin felt soft and supple. I felt like it had become. The bathroom and changing room were equipped with a hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, and body soap.・Dinner from 6 p.m. and breakfast from 8 a.m. are all made with plenty of seasonal and local ingredients, and I was impressed from beginning to end. It was so delicious that I was moved by the taste. The dishes were all beautiful and I was very excited. For breakfast, green tea is served to go with the Japanese food, but those who prefer coffee or black tea can also use the in-house tea room. You can also order alcoholic drinks and non-alcoholic drinks at dinner. Room service is also apparently available. 🟡About the area around the facility - There are no convenience stores or supermarkets around Bessho Onsen Station, so if you want to make sure to bring your own drinks, etc., and are heading to Bessho Onsen by train from Ueda Station, there are some shops near Ueda Station. It might be better to buy what you need before heading out.・
