Have been there for one night on our 3d/2n hiking tour to Sapa, so we did not actively choose the hotel. Compared to the other hotels around (most of them looked really nice and welcoming), this one was pretty run down and everything looked a bit dirty and sticky. The room itself was big and nice, the bathroom had its best days long ago. We had to search for the switch to turn of the lights right above the bed - they were hidden behind the pillows in the bedframe. We didn't use the air con, but it was turned on with a single fuse switch. There also was a open socket on the wall (safety? 😅) and everything looked a bit old. The windows are super thin and you hear everything from outside. The doors are not really keeping the noise out as well. The staff was... I guess okay? None of them spoke English, except the lady at the reception, who was quite friendly and helpful, but the "waiters" were unprofessional, spilled food over our table and hung around in the restaurant area if they didn't work. The tour-guy in the lobby was nice and helpful as well and could speak decent english, but I don't think he really belongs to the hotel. The food at lunch and dinner itself was okay to be fair (was the same food for both meals...), but the breakfast wasn't good: there is little choice and when we got there, everything was cold, except the freshly fried eggs (thanks to the "cook"). The coffee was not good as well and the can was so dirty, I didn't even wanted to look at it. For Western tourists, the only option for non-asian food was toast with some marmalade and maybe eggs. All together, I wouldn't recommend to book this hotel, if you have a choice.
