Đào Hùng Hotel

Not much choice around Lao Bao and unfortunately this place was it for us. The room was very dirty, hair and mud all over the floor. Ants paraded under the curtain and even in the bed and under my pillow. The bathroom was completely wet when I walked in, like they just hosed it down to clean it. A lizard also paid us a visit and couldn’t get the water hot enough in the terrible shower. Had to ask for towels at reception and these were provided at no additional cost. Amenities include a brush and tooth brushes plus small bottles of soap and lord knows what the other was. Can’t expect a lot for the price you pay but the very least they should have a clean room and no insects.

If you have to stay in Lao Bao for the night, I guess this would be my only choice. But how they got three stars is beyond me. Aside from being neglected (well before COVID I imagine). They could have at least made sure the rooms, furnishings and accessories were clean. Note: They do not take credit cards and the hotel policy is one pillow per guest, so be prepared. Meals are also a challenge. Forget about anything from the hotel and good luck with finding anything in town – bring your own.
